Would Lote Tuqiri make your Wallaby 22?

Yes. I think you need to have different types of players in your team. Amongst the back 3 Tuqiri fulfils the role of tall bruiser (also good for diffusing cross-field kicks), with Turner / Hynes the flyer and JO'C the playmaker (which is important for counter-attacking).

    Go the Chiefs

The Crusaders seem to throw the ball around more than the 'tahs and their kicking game isn't "kick and hope" like the 'tahs tended to do. Think whoever wins the Bulls v 'Saders game will win the comp. Out of the two I would hope the Bulls win it to silence any critics of their '07 win ("they...

    Wallaby Bolters

I was wondering the same thing myself as every time I have seen him play this year he seems to live out in the backline, one time pushing Gitteau out of the way to get into first five when the Force were on the attack. Would love to see a locking pair of Horwill (if fit, otherwise Kimlin) and...

    Western Force 2010

Re: Comings and goings at the Force Didn't have an illness after he left school? A pretty serious one from memory, which may explain his 'dozy' play after leaving school and his poor play over the ensuing years. As Spook says his play is improving so maybe he is only now starting to get over it.

    Western Force 2010

Re: Comings and goings at the Force Are the Force chasing Lealifano at all? With Gits going back and Leo off contract it wouldn't be a bad move...

    British and Irish Lions

Great to see a long tour but why play the tests over three consecutive weekends? Put a fortnight between each test so the teams have time to alter their style / line-up if necessary. Anyone else think the absence of "leaders" is an answer to the previous two tours problems?

    Tahs Vs Farce

The Force were a 20 point better team than the 'tahs last night. Two legitimate tries stolen by the ref and his assistant and the 'tahs gifted 6 points in penalties that weren't even free kick offences. Maybe Sydney rugby fans are taking Hickey at his word and saying that if only the result...

    Playing rugby in 2009

Had half a game in seconds today playing lock which was good. Coach took me off at half time and said I needed to work on my fitness a bit more (I told him I had none to begin with before the game started). We got hammered (firsts did as well) as we were a thrown together team of whoever turned...

Aussie super 14 team of the week Round 9 2009

Spoken like a NSWelshman. You need to go home to Queensland Ash as you have obviously been in Sydney too long. Every Qlder (and every other rugby playing nation for that matter) knows that a front rower is judged on their merits at the set piece contests. Ball running is for backs.

    Playing rugby in 2009

We had our second trial on the weekend (my first) against Southlakes up in Morriset (yes it was played with banjo music in the background). I came on 10 minutes into the second quarter, had a nice first scrum (need to work on positioning my feet correctly before the crouch and engage) and went...

    Shute Shield 2009

Re: 2009 Shute Shield It would be a great result for club rugby if Penrith can knock over the axewounds from Sydney Uni this weekend. Not to mention the mighty West Harbour winning the premiership this year. Go you good things!

Greg Martin says the Waratahs must drop Kurtley Beale

I gotta agree with Naza a little as Oz backs in general (not all) lack the skill set of most of the backs in the NZ / SA teams, especially our outside backs. It seems over the past few years our love of all things league in the coaching ranks has developed a generation of players who are...

    Playing rugby in 2009

I am back playing rugby for the Rams this year (go you good things) on the Coast and have even put my hand up to help out on the committee. The coach told me a couple of days ago that I will be the starting prop with the express purpose of destroying the opposition scrum.... which would be okay...

    SANZAR/Super rugby future format

Don't agree with getting a heap of NRL players to fill the new team as IMHO the only truly successful league players have been Robinson and to a much lesser extent Thorn and perhaps Tuqiri. Oz would be better off getting players back from OS, more marquee players (as others have stated) and...

    NSW V QLD hate

Well done NSW on the win, hope the strewak continues and you can win the title for the sake of Oz rugby. Hopefully Qld can lift themselves to NSW' level so that Oz can have 2 title contenders and more players vying for Wallaby selection.

    Baa Baas v Wallabies

It was the backpage article and it did feature quotes from Tommy Raudonikas. I think the editorial was more focussed on the plague of sharks murdering innocent beachgoers or something like that.

    Predictions for Friday

Qld to win a tight ugly contest with "wonderboy" Beale missing a vital tackle leading to the Reds winning try (the only one of the game). Afterwards all the NSW contingent on here going MIA for a few days before popping up again Tuesday-ish to talk about next week's upcoming match.

    Baa Baas v Wallabies

I noticed the NRL department of propaganda (a.k.a The Daily Telegraph) has called on fans to boycott the game because Sunny Boy is playing.

    TPN's first throw...again

Hopefully with Axel Foley as the NSW forwards coach any throwing problems of TPN will be rectified.
