    Wallaby Captain

I voted for Benn Robbo as to me it came down to a choice of 3 - he, Smith and Gitts. IMHO thew captain should meet the following criteria: 1. be an automatic selection; 2. be an 80 minute player in most matches; 3. be world class; 4. be durable (not injury prone); 5. be in a position to lead...

    Wallaby Captain

Having watched (rather excruciatingly) the Wallabies through the 3N matches it seems that they are lacking leadership? Who do you think should lead the Wallabies through to the RWC2011 and beyond.... Feel free to elaborate on your selection.

Warnervale lost by 50 on the weekend so we ended up coming 3rd last on the ladder :yay (small mercies - didn't want to finish with the spoon)

    S15 TV Deal

I remember ten's coverage before super rugby began and they did a tremendous job lifting the profile of rugby. I'd be very happy if ten wins the coverage as they won't go about it in a half0arsed fashion as seven have done.

Bledisloe 2 "Do or Die" Wallabies v Ab's in Sydney

Could that be because our coaches have been looking for 'athletes' rather than rugby players?

Played my final game yesterday, unfortunately we lost 31-29. 2 bonus points should be enough for us to avoid the spoon though. I was pretty unhappy when I was subbed with 15 to go though, but we had a heap of reserves and they wanted to give everyone a run (the guy who replaced me apologised for...

Hope they do get relegated as one of our first grade coaches appointed for this year was poached by them at the start of the season (week of the first game) for a bit of money. He turned up at our ground last week for a game only to be told in no uncertain terms that he was not welcome at our...

    Shute Shield 2009

Re: 2009 Shute Shield How is his scrumming technique looking? Did he play LHP or THP?

    Refs' Room 2009

Okay, another week and another query. Again with a free kick. Yesterday the opposition got a FK and the player tapped it, took 2 steps and potted a field goal. Forgive my ignorance but I was under the impression that the ball had to be taken into a contest before a DG could be kicked. I am sure...

Played our second last game of a long season yesterday - surprise, surprise home game against weak opposition and we have players coming out of the woodwork. I handed the captaincy over to a teammate yesterday as it was his 100th for the club. We won the game 17-8 which was no reflection of the...

    15th team

Cockatoos have withdrawn from the race. From http://www.entrance.rugbynet.com.au/default.asp?id=153101 Saw Pappy on Rugby Club last night and was a little dismayed when he talked about poaching leaguies. Didn't watch the whole show though so may have taken him out of context.

At the Rams we are now definitely on a slippery slope. We only had 22 players turn up for the 2 grades on Saturday against one of our most hated rivals. We went down in seconds 67-0 and 74-0 in firsts. We have 2 games remaing, our sponsors day is this week so I am hoping we get a good turnout...

    Refs' Room 2009

I'd prefer not to report him as I don't want it to come back to haunt the club as he is the boss of the referees. It is just frustrating as we seem to get the rough end of the pineapple every week which doesn't help a struggling club. We will get there eventually.

    Refs' Room 2009

Problem is he is the boss of the local refs association. Hopefully we won't have him again this season, or ever, the latter being the preferred option.

    Barnes joins Tahs!

Barnes is just one player and the Reds revival will continue. As soon as we get a decent forwards coach (is Jake Howard available?) our tight 5 led return to dominance will begin.

    Refs' Room 2009

Which is what I thought. The guy has had it in for our club for years and is always a tad biased against us, IMHO, so was totally surprised.

    Refs' Room 2009

On the weekend we had received a free kick about 10 out from their line and our lock was going to take a hit up. He moved to run on to the ball before it was 'tapped' and the ref gave the opposition a free kick (could have been a scrum) for him moving before the ball had been tapped. Has anyone...

We had an away game today so only 12 guys took the effort to be there. We borrowed some of the opposition's players as they had a chance of making the semis and weren't too bad a club (they have struggled for many years alongside ours). We had a bit of a go after we ensured they got the bonus...

    Western Force 2010

Re: Comings and goings at the Force Any word on the Force chasing young Johnno Lance? He would fit in nicely over there if the Reds aren't interested.

Rumour of the week: Tahu back to League?

I noticed it as soon as I returned to Oz from China - I blame it on a media conspiracy to dumb down the world to America's level. I Can't stand league and it is even worse as my entire family live in a heartland (for the sport) and are right into it.
