    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

Obviously a big game coming up at Yoku Road, Ashgrove between two undefeated teams in Brothers & GPS. Brothers are the comp leaders one point ahead of GPS. Any predictions as to who are favourites for the game? Although I'm a GPS supporter and ex-player, I don't really know the make up of the team.

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

The Brumbies only just acheived a victory over the Hurricanes last weekend - a team coming 2nd last in the NZ chapter, and yet listen to them crow in above posts. You know the old saying.... rooster one day, feather duster the next

And i'm still a fishin. Ha ha.

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

And why not CFS better than Coleman or Kuridrani. He was outstanding in the Queensland 'B' team games and is obviously a champion player. It's not a matter of if he wears Wallaby gold, but when. Ioane already is moving into out centre to make way for him on the wing in the Reds. We have to...

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

I thought I'd look at the possible make-up of both teams for this game. I'm assuming that Hooper is not suspended, and also that Lucas recovers from his injury (to balance the books, so to speak). I'm putting Lucas on the bench as I suspect that is what MacKenzie would do as he went off injured...

    Higgers to the Rebels

Sorry to nit pick but I can't believe the number of people who can't understand the difference between the words 'lose' and 'loose'. So often the word 'loose' (which means, not tight) is used by mistake, far too many times to be a typo. 'Lose' means to depart with something you had. So I've had...

Quade Cooper; where does he go, what does he do?

There are a lot of detractors of Quade, especially from the other side of the ditch, but that in itself tells us what a super rugby star he is. He will have learnt a lot from the world cup, and if he stays with rugby, along with Will Ginea, could become the greatest halves pairing to dance the...

Reds v Lions, Super Rugby Round 13 2012

I see Chris Feauai-Sautia is coming off the bench. It will be interesting to see how well he performs as he was a schoolboy prodigy apparently. And also someone called Quade Cooper at 10, anyone know how good he is? Lol

    Quade Coopers Recovery

Are you sure he's not coming off the bench. That would make more sense.

Reds v Lions, Super Rugby Round 13 2012

The Reds backs with the exception of Ginea have pretty well all had a rest through injury, so I don't see any alternatives running on there. In the forwards, I think Horwell was rested for part of the last game so he will play from the start again, but will be rested into the second half. The...

Brumbies v Reds - Winner takes all?

Although the game is still two weekends away, there is already quite a bit of speculation about it, particularly who is best between Hooper & Gill, contraversial suggestions that the Reds pack humiliated the Brumbies pack in their last outing etc. What makes this game a stand out is how these...

Reds vs Chiefs -Suncorp Stadium 13 May

JM, I do hear you, but the back line I put up does have QC (Quade Cooper) as 10, and that effects the balance of the back line. I personally think Harris when in form is the best converter, but QC (Quade Cooper) is no slouch either. Harris does lack some pace at 12, & that's why I omitted him in the XV. You need a very good...

Reds vs Chiefs -Suncorp Stadium 13 May

Fangaa at 12 for a number of reasons: a) he is a better defender than Taps b) he needs to get used to that position to team up with QC (Quade Cooper) on his return c) Taps is better at 13, he has extra speed for his wingers and yes Lucas suffers the role of utility player.... good in a number of positions...

Reds vs Chiefs -Suncorp Stadium 13 May

I'd like to think Cooper has a club game under his belt before the big stage return, & then for the last 10-15 minutes against the Brumbies, but the bye will interrupt after that, so more club games for Quade. In my opinion, Links would probably prefer this than QC (Quade Cooper) playing international &...

Reds vs Chiefs -Suncorp Stadium 13 May

For my money I see a fully fit back line as: 9. Ginea 10 Cooper 11 Ioane 12 Fangaa A 13 Tapuai 14 Shipperley 15 Morahan Bench 21 Lucas 22 Harris But I'm sure there will be some ongoing injuries, as always

Reds vs Chiefs -Suncorp Stadium 13 May

For me, Will Ginea's try was the turning point of the game, much like the final last year. The way he thought out his run lines, & then ran like a hare for the line. Did you see how Ioane was actually impeded without the ball in the background when running support. Ginea read that possibility...

Reds vs Chiefs -Suncorp Stadium 13 May

But didn't the Foxtel Sports commentators dine out on it - like they're not reporting the game, they're trying to make the news. Very poor commentating in my opinion. To be honest with you, I think Horan has become the producers love boy. Anything to try to create a story, no matter how much it...

    Aus conference finals run

I think WJ hit the nail on the head, Quad Cooper will still be the best 5/8 in Aussi when he returns, initially off the bench. He will be fresh & raring to go. In contrast the Brumbies will start to lose it without Lilo, just as the Reds did for the first part of the season. With the rest of...
