Reds vs Waratahs - the war before the war

Well I think the war before the war might have a white flag waving from south of the border, with the following news, If the odds are still with the Waratahs, then this has to be money for jam!

    Waratahs 2012

I saw where the Reds have gone into partnership with Foxsport for their website. Makes sense as the latter are all about social networking which is good for the Reds, and the high volume of audience via Foxsport of the Reds games makes it a win/win for Foxsport. Just as long as the emphasis...

    Waratahs vs Reds - Round 1 - 2012R01

I'd guess that the Reds plan would be to take on the 'tahs in a dour forward struggle for the first 40 - 50 minutes, and then open the game up in the last quarter. Earlier it is probably going to be a bit more like a Test. No doubt it will be a cauldron during the first half, but eventually...

Reds vs Waratahs - the war before the war

Why is everyone using the word 'loose' when they mean 'lose'. I'm seeing it everywhere lately is it a fad or somethin - possibly a lot of Kiwis using G & G.

New South Wales v Queensland: 130th Anniversary

By not playing Queensland, NSW actually did the Reds forerunners a great favour. I actually started to play club & other rugby after 1965, and enjoyed the atmosphere at the BGS field at Normandy. But what I saw in the players & supporters at my young impressionable age was a very real loathing...

Reds vs Waratahs - the war before the war

It was interesting to read Robbie Deans interpretation of QC (Quade Cooper) not playing for a while in that he said this gave the Reds the opportunity to go about doing things differently this season which he saw as an advantage as it would help prevent opposition teams from reading & countering the Reds game...

New South Wales v Queensland: 130th Anniversary

Kiwis impersonating New South Welshamen 130 years ago? So even back then they went to any levels from the land of the long white cloud to to enhance their playing knowledge. In fact if you look at the middle player in the middle row he has more than a passing resemblance to Dan Carter.

Reds vs Waratahs - the war before the war

Also, possibly to Pretorious's credit, the Cheetahs overall defence was not too good, and he might well have been overextending to reach opposition backs.

    Waratahs vs Reds - Round 1 - 2012R01

Just a tad disappointing, tigerland12, that you start a thread very similar to 'Reds vs Waratahs - the war before the war', creating confusion for members with two almost identical threads. Freedom of speech should always be encouraged, but not so cronyism

Reds vs Waratahs - the war before the war

Interesting follow-on in the Courier-Mail this morning regarding Sanchez & Sarel

Reds vs Waratahs - the war before the war

Last year, Sarel (Pretorius) made some great breaks for the Cheetahs, but really only against forward packs that were large & cumbersome. Also in the first two trial games against the virtually amateur sides of Samoa & Tonga without their test players (currently playing in Europe), Sarel...

Reds vs Waratahs - the war before the war

@qwerty51. Therefore, do you see the 'tahs being more inclined to play 10 man rugby, keeping it more amongst the forward back and taking it up the centre of the field?
