    Robbie Deans

I can now understand Deans' dilemma immediately after the Scotland test. He never, never thought, even in his wildest imaginings, that his team would lose. Two thoughts would have occurred to him there & then as a result: a) the Wallabies will be much more vulnerable to being defeated by the...

Wallabies vs Wales - Suncorp Stadium June 9

The real challenge is going to be the "Four Nations" a.k.a "The Rugby Championship" in August. These tests are really positioning for that, although of course there is national pride on the line, as was evident in the loss to Scotland. But if Australia win The Rugby Championship, this test...

Wallabies vs Wales - Suncorp Stadium June 9

To win a test against a side like Wales, I'd suggest you need EIGHT honest toilers!

    Robbie Deans

The writing is on the wall, the hook is just behind the curtain - Mr Deans, please take a final bow & leave the stage. As a professional national coach, he is just not up to scratch. A very good summation of Robbie whom really just doesn't have it. If the Wallabies lose on Saturday then he will...

Wallabies vs Wales - Suncorp Stadium June 9

That last remark destroyed your entire post - it was ben Alexander who received the credit for the penalty.

Conspiracy, conspiracy..... what conspiracy? Be alert 'less the conspiracists take us down. Now for a drink.

Obviously Marl Loane was before your time - he was the best of the 8's for scattering the field with his charges.

Waratahs vs Hurricanes - Super Rugby 2012 Rd 15

On paper, this side is very powerful, but comes game day, they just are not bringing home the bacon. And I think this problem revolves around the No 10. Barnes can play good rugby but for me he's been responsible in this key position for the losing problems. At this stage of the season it's time...

    Reds 2013

Perhaps Links is signing up Michael McGuire as an assistant coach under Graham. (I get these brilliant insights at times)

Wallabies v Wales: Name Your Best XV

Jets, my only alterations to your selection would be to have Barnes starting at 12 rather than Fainga'a, and to have Lucas on the bench covering for Ginea/Cooper/Barnes/AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). Also I would have a 5/2 split from the bench with Hooper instead of White as Ginea is an 80 minute player.

Is that barrel a good fit? Ha ha

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Ben Lucas is the ideal inside back/fullback utility. Don't be surprised if you see him on the bench, as he was agianst Wales in the last test in 2011

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

The Brumbies hand in the scrum at their 5 metre mark just before full time that pulled the ball out that allowed them to kick it upfield was a lifesaver for the moment for the Brumbies. That was a professional foul which for some reason the assistant referee chose to ignore, and because it was a...

Wallabies v Wales: Name Your Best XV

Hey CJF, Let me put in my pennies worth to your selection with remarks: 1 Agree 2 Agree 3 Slipper 4 Sharpe: Horwill injured and Sharpe has test experience 5 Agree (spelt Simmons) 6 Agree (spelt Higginbotham - but you're taking the mickey out here aern't you?) 7 Agree 8 Palu 9 Agree obvious...

    Reds 2013

I was just thinking of the thread header "Reds 2013' and realised the thread has lost direction. For next year I don't see Samo or Van been around. Horwill getting injured does make you realise that other than AWH (and he's getting on in age) we are a bit short in the locks department (no pun...

    Reds 2013

At least he has 5 weeks and some minor (club & Hurricanes B squad) games to bring him back up to S15.

    Reds 2013

Just to clarify my post, I said that Horwell is NOT unreliable, and was comparing the fact that he too has had two injuries like Ben Lucas, who is being called unreliable. What I'm saying is neither are unreliable 2040. 'Clarity in hindsight requires effort from others'.

    Probably Higgers too.

    Wallabies 40 man squad

Remembering that this is a training squad, I suspect they have included Neville as a lock to in fact provide him with a learning curve as obviously they see real potential in him. Remember a large part of Dean's mantra is to unearth future Wallabies. He certainly wouldn't be too impressed with...
