I think these are all fair enough call outs. I’m not sure what the players think of it being reported publicly, but I like hearing Rennie’s critiques on where players have to improve. The good thing is each of these players has every opportunity to address these issues now and kick on.

I don’t think you need to be creative to play whats in front of you. Both Foley and Lolesio play relatively direct. Cooper is more of a game manager. I agree Lolesio is tracking fine. I just don’t think he’s ever going to be a game manager the way some 10s are.

Careful Seb. I made the observation that Noah was a similiar style player to Foley about 12 months ago and one of your fellow Brumbies supporters didn’t take too kindly to it at all. My view is that he’s progressing nicely. He’s still young but he’s been pretty good to date. He was found short...

Not sure why you’d change your 10/12 combo. Especially for players like CFS or Kata who, to my knowledge, have never played 12. I don’t see a lot of resemblance in either of them to Kerevi other than they are relatively big blokes.

There is something irrepressible about a massive bloke with good offloading. Very hard to shut down. Some of the reactions of other players where he is just picking guys up are pretty funny. When he clean picks the player up off the ground and a teammate can’t join without making it a maul what...

I dunno - expecting everyone else to change just because you have seems pretty Elite

    Wallabies 2021

Coleman was great when he first played for the Wallabies and then his form dropped right off. But he was still quite young at the time. Given that our current squad contains guys like Fainga'a, Latu (apparently), Slipper, Skelton, White, Cooper, O’Connor, Kellaway et al - all of who were either...

Ok. Good young player with potential. I’ll take your word on his capacity as a sire.

Given that he got sent after 80 minutes with the game in the bag I figured it was a genius play to get first crack at the hot water

My point was around having players to call in in the event of injury. I don’t really know how it works in Europe, but I am working on the presumption that if they had two injuries they couldn’t just call some else to join the squad from Australia as easily as they could in the past. Maybe...

I don’t think Maddocks really had a good year, but he is still very young and does have lots of potential. Hopefully a stint OS will help him iron out his game the way it helped with Kellaway. At his best he is certainly a very good player.

Mack Hanson is an interesting one. I really can’t see it being likely - but given that I rated him above Banks when he was here I wouldn’t be opposed to them giving him a try at all. The fact that McKellar clearly didn’t probably isn’t a good sign though.

Of course. But that doesn’t mean it won’t benefit them in the longer run.

    Wallabies 2021

Two observations - - normally 3 Hookers & 3 9s is the standard, but I assume they will have difficulties just calling someone into the squad who isn’t already in Europe. So I think they will still possibly take 3 of each and also look to be able to call in Latu & Phipps in need (so maybe Phipps...

The more threats the harder it is to defend. Also, the easier it is to push the ball to areas where it is less useful. Back ball is the optimum because it makes it much easier for backline attack which is generally much harder to get going off front ball. If defence only has to worry about one...

For me even two genuine targets is too easy to defend. You either need 3 genuines and a change up, or 2 genuines and 2 that are more than half-decent. However, on the flip side I will concede that a forward park with all of Arnold, Skelton & Valetini wouldn’t struggle for physical presence.

Well - my answer to that is I think he has lots of characteristics to be a really good 6. But he is not there at the moment. But, even if he is, it doesn’t really solve the problem unless you move Swinton or Samu to 8.

Wallabies v Argentina Sat 2 October CBus Stadium

Definitely agree with the first statement. I promise I am not trying to be argumentative here, but I keep coming back to the balance of the pack. For me, one of the keys to our run of success has been the growth of Valetini. He also has the bonus of being a domestic based player who I am...

Wallabies v Argentina Sat 2 October CBus Stadium

Okay. So a couple of follow up questions - - are you then happy with Valetini in the backrow given our lineout is already struggling and Hooper is a lock for 7? - how do you feel that both your first choice starting locks are based OS and are going to be unavailable for a good portion of...

Fair enough. Very hard for me to argue with that. What does the rest of your pack look like?
