Scotland vs Australia - Murrayfield, 8 Nov 1:15AM AEDT

I’m happy to acknowledge your point that my view is ‘uninformed’ but I just think there is a tendency to overhype OS players form and look at players to be the Messiah. Then turn on them if they don’t live up to it.

Scotland vs Australia - Murrayfield, 8 Nov 1:15AM AEDT

Rodda is anything but a passenger. Anyhow, I do rate Arnold highly and I am keen to see what the European guys can do. I’ve no doubt they’ll get opportunties. I’m very keen to see how Skelton gets used. Skelton had his issues when he was here but I always felt the general public treatment of...

    Brumbies 2022

I get the sentiment perfectly and Nathan Grey certainly wouldn’t be my first choice - but I was less than enthusiastic when Ewan McKenzie was appointed Reds coach after being sacked by Stade Fracais, after previously not having his contract renewed by the Waratahs. Coaches improve. Sometimes...

Scotland vs Australia - Murrayfield, 8 Nov 1:15AM AEDT

I think they’ll get picked - maybe not this weekend - but definitely at some point - but I still don’t get this view. Last time Arnold & Rodda were picked together for Australia (at the World Cup) Rodda was the better performed of the two. And it wasn’t that long ago. Why do you assume Arnold...

    Wallabies 2021

I don’t agree at all with the comment McReight is underweight, but I applaud the Wallabies for seeking to better manage the development of our young players. McReight has a fantastic career ahead of him. The experience of touring would’ve, no doubt, had plenty of benefit, but there will be...

    Wallabies 2021

Good choice. Agree - I can’t see him in the 23, but who knows. A couple of injuries and he gets a shot. Always a good player - just plays in the position where Australia always seems to have depth

Kerevi still has the same agent as when he left the Reds, right? Is that why agents have suddenly become an issue?

I bet Paisami is glad he toured now

You’re thinking Tom Lynagh, aren’t you. Edit: actually, seems the ideal opportunity for a Tom & Louis Lynagh double act. The future is now.

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

You’re probably right Dan. Although - to be fair - he was a NZ test player, so there wasn’t really any need for him to know the rules. :)

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

I agree he’s in the money, and clearly the ref & ARs knew it as they didn’t hesitate. My only comment is that it’s hardly surprising that the average watcher wasn’t 100% sure and it was a point of interest.

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

Ant Faianga’a certainly was much more a Paisami level than a Kerevi level player and he was an excellent foil for Quade. Every 10 players better with guys around them they are used to, but I think that is even more so for Cooper. Given a bit more time I think they’d be much better. Kerevi will...

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

I largely agree - but Paisami is very capable of straightening the attack and getting us on the front foot. I think at times yesterday we should have gone down that road a bit more. I agree that I’d still have him in front of Perese. He may not have busted up the defence the way that Kerevi has...

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

Sure, the next day. An international commentator and former test player wasn’t aware of the correct ruling and none of the others had seen it before and were sure on the ruling. it’s not really surprising it is a point of discussion.

But it didn’t go touch in goal? I’m a bit lost on your logic.

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

The thing was QC (Quade Cooper) didn’t try to use Paisamj to dump it to to make those hard runs in traffic. Now that could be because Paisami wasn’t as good at positioning himself, but it seemed like there wasn’t an intent there to try and play the more controlled game that has been working for us. Don’t get...

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

Maybe. But he’s also the best guy at getting himself carded. I want be surprised if he comes in next game, and I’m happy to back the call of the coaching group, but I won’t be losing sleep if they don’t.

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

I think it’s more an reflection that the game was still there to be lost with 5 to go and that try locked it up. Its not the first time someone has got points based on the ‘relief’ factor.

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

Actually - the other really bright spot for me is that I think Valetini is really turning into a quality test player. Some of the detail in his work is extremely impressive.

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

Well - we certainly can’t play like that in the next 3 games, but then I don’t think we did at all in the last 4, so I’m not too downcast at this stage.
