The play making is a bonus. He really needs to be able to offload and defend well. He already has a knack of beating defenders and has excellent pace. They(the powers that be) should decide on exactly how Hodge fits into the puzzle soon. With To'omua seemingly coming back in to the picture as a...

It probably will be Rona. I would like to see Hodge given a run though. You would have to think that 13 is his natural position. He is big and deceptively fast. Most of all he just takes good options as a footballer and has some playmaking skills. His cannon is the cream on top.

I think he just needs to contracted for 2020 to an Oz Super side. To'omua will be eligible the same way?

Sad news for TK as he was coming in to some really good form. Isn't McMahon coming back next year to have a tilt at the RWC? I would have him ahead of both Timu and Naisarani.

Will not happen that way. Hopefully both are fit to go but Foley is going to be our first choice 10.

    Reds 2018

It would not take long to bring him up to speed. They need someone who can direct them around the paddock. Behind that pack with a lot of running options out wide Cooper could be devastating. He did not have a drug issue or anything else recently and there is no one anywhere near his level as a...

The powers that be(if there are any left) at the Reds or at Rugby Australia should be encouraging Thorn to give Cooper a run. Ditto for Slipper when he is available. Not sure about Hunt. edit - I see there is an article in the Oz about the same.

Backs had nothing. If Cooper was there the Reds would have won by 30. If he was playing for the Rebs they would have done the same.

Thorn has been good in certain respects but he needs help with the backs and some direction overall. A little dose of flexibility and empathy would also be good.

Why in Gods name would any club anywhere give a 10 year contract to anyone, let alone a coach who is failing in certain core areas?

    Reds 2018

Maybe a different head coach and/or backs coach? Thorn has obviously done well with the pack.

    Reds 2018

Reds need direction in the backs and to get them around the paddock. Quade and Genia have a lot of experience and both should have been there this year. Samu Kerevi is not the guy to to do it either. Its a big ask for Stewart at this stage and he should not be put under that pressure. With Lance...

Unfortunately Quade will never be considered as long as Thorn is there. He would have added a lot to the team this year. They just lacked direction, which is a pity considering the pack was excellent.

We will see about Kepu. I think he still has a few good years in him. Experience wins RWCs and there is nowhere on the paddock where experience is more prized than at TH.

Oh man, the guy just had a phenomenal awareness of space and how to put himself and/or others in it. This despite the fact his eyesight was so poor. I reckon Quade has a similar awareness but not the head on his shoulders to always use it well. Larkham was just pure class.

Don’t forget about Latu, Folau, Simmons and Hanigan

TPN is our number one and Latu two. BPA is a good third hooker in the squad

I thought he was a bit ordinary and we really missed Hoopers speed when he went off. Samu is too upright in contact and he gave away a few silly penalties at the breakdown. He is a good replacement for Hooper or Pocock but we should not have all 3 in the 23.

Unless of course you find yourself at numero uno.
