That is true in most cases but Cheika seems to micro manage his team. As someone alluded to up the page a bit, we don’t even know who does what in his coaching setup. He keeps his cards very close to his chest and has way too much control with how the Wallabies are run. RA are as weak as a wet...

It would be good for Cheikas coaching and give him some hope for the future. It basically reignited EJs career. Cheika would not be able to do it. If we do hire White or Johnson then Cheika goes, or maybe even walks?

Dare I say it but that is Quades forte. Standing very flat and delivering accurate balls, sometimes taking on the line. He seemed to take on the line less more recentlyat Super or test level but that may have been tactical. It is risky and generally there are more errors but the payoff is good.

We got smashed in the scrum and at the breakdown on the weekend. Surprisingly our lineout was pretty decent for 2 weeks in a row. I thought that Ledesma was a set piece coach. Not sure what Simon Rs responsibility is but ultimately it is Cheikas setup.

The gig is up for Super Rugby. Looks like the Saffas are going to play in Europe and we will end up with a trans-Tasman comp along with our NRC and club rugby. That’s not so bad and interest in club rugby in both NSW and QLD is on the rise. Maybe they lower the requirement to 20 tests?

Every prop in the setup except for Sio has been switched from one side to the other and some back again.

So what prevented our props remaining where they had been since the RC? You have to admit that Ainsley is not up to it and that Slipper has demonstrated he is fit enough to at least fill that back up role if not to challenge for a starting spot, which hopefully he will do next year. I think you...

Kepu was on the LH side since the middle of the RC. AAA and Sio were going pretty well. What would possess Cheika and/or Raiwalui to change that and play Ainsley on his unnatural side for that final test? Or to play him at all when he so obviously struggled at that level? And what of Toupo...

Great article by Nic Bishop https://www.theroar.com.au/2018/11/28/why-the-answers-for-australian-rugby-are-blowin-in-the-wind/ Just when Sekope Kepu is beginning to enjoy his last few games as a Wallaby on the left side of the scrum, he’s required to move back to the right and receives an...

I’d say we have the best tight 5 depth we have had in the pro era. It doesn’t help to switch sides with every prop and some back again. Our set piece in 2017 was very good. We need a decent set piece coach and consistency in selection. All of sudden switching Kepu back to TH and dropping TT on...

The back row is a real problem area for this Wallaby side. Without Pocock we are not competitive at the breakdown. Hopefully all of the potential backrowers have a good super season and we have more options. Dempsey has his moments, that effort against the ABs last year was magic. It would be...

Uelese will be our starting rake if fit. If TPN can get there he will also be seriously considered. Kepu will be one of the first selected props. Tom Banks has another Super Rugby season to reinforce his claims. Isi is untested at the top level. I’m not convinced he is the powerful backrower we need...

Sadly Cheika ruled out quite a few players over time. I’m not sure if Quade is up to it anymore or not but I would guess that a new coach would base his selections on the super rugby season next year and all those discarded players will have a clean slate.

They may have a had a hard season but if all except Folau are dropping off tackles in a season defining game there must be other issues. DHP was hot and cold. The initial charge down was due to a small fumble by Genia at the base. He was very nervous or caught up in the excitement of his 100th...

That has to mean that their hearts are not in it. Beale has the size and technique to defend aggressively when he chooses to. Even Foley fronts up and shows no fear when tackling in just about every test. Genia is a bit lacklustre at times lately and just gives up. Someone like JW would put in a...

Thats OK. Defence wins tests matches. There was a time not long ago when Beales defence improved immeasurably. He can do it if he wishes to.

Wouldn’t be bad. Get back to basics. That’s what test footy is all about. Give Beale, Folau, Petaia and co some good front foot ball to work with.

I see that Jake White and Scott Johnson have put their hands up.

Depending on what actually happened it was probably not the best way to deal with it. I’m with FitzSimons on this. Shows a squad divided.

It was interesting to see how England successfully targeted Foleys “wing” and made a lot of ground through that channel. He may be even less adapt at defending against big back 3 oppo with space than in the centre where he has back up from our backrow. A lot of the poms play was directed at Foley.
