    Australia v England

It appeared as though the tactic was to kick down the middle, often directly to the opposition and then back our defence in gaining ground? Not very sound tactically based on our defensive record over the past few years.

It’s always been a struggle for rugby in Oz. Nothing’s changed in that regard and in fact the Sydney and Brisbane comps are having a bit of a resurgence at the moment. Super rugby is dead and will soon be gone. Hopefully we will have a trans Tasman comp in place alongside the ARC. Ultimately we...

that’s a crap way to finish off a footy season, Sis Gate and all.....
  4. Joe Blow

    Australia v England

We could certainly start with replacing Grey and possibly other support coaches.
  5. Joe Blow

    Australia v England

Kicking is a skill. At times throughout his career Beale has been pretty good at it. Foley lacks range and Reese Hodge with the long range accurate cannon is rarely used. Ditto DHP. Poor execution or poor tactics..........or both
  6. Joe Blow

    Australia v England

It was a predictably negative way to end the worst year in Wallaby rugby in recent memory. Surely something has to give?

The injured Pocock. It would have just been him missing. We might have seen a centre pairing of Kerevi and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) as many had hoped or at least a pretty well established 12. The squad lacks balance, particularly in the back row.
  8. Joe Blow

    Australia v England

Whatever happened it means we are now without 3 of our most experienced squad members instead of 1.
  9. Joe Blow

    Australia v England

Nothing new in it. Maybe the leadership group could have handled it a little differently? None of it reflects a group that are tight knit and backing each other up. Annoying to say the least.

Just saw the shorts for the 9 news. “Michael Cheika caught lying about why he dropped two of his stars” Here it comes

Even Wells. Just take your best 8s and work with them. Dempsey, Hooper, Higgs would be pretty handy and tick all of the boxes.

As far as Wallaby scandals go this one’s not great. A bit like their form?

Now we are unlikely to find out

    Australia v England

Looks like he’s lost them or is losing them at the least. @vidiot - If they are playing to a certain “shape” and results are not coming then I am sure that all involved are disheartened and become frustrated. It seems like Cheika is reluctant to change shape and game plans.

What about Tupou? He must be broken or ill.
  16. Joe Blow

    Australia v England

Hahaha. Thing is the squad was a bit off. I wonder how the new coach will approach selection?
  17. Joe Blow

    Australia v England

Not for the series against England a few years back in Oz. With Kerevi at 12 we got slammed. He’s a much better player now and would give us some authority in mid field if at inside centre.

If one was to give Cheiks the benefit of the doubt you would suggest that both TT and Beale are unavailable due to injury or illness. Foley becomes the next cab off the rank as the second kicking/playmaking option.
  19. Joe Blow

    Australia v England

Must be injured? He has been injury prone of late and is a big boy. As I said, there is no way Ainsley is anywhere near ready for this level.
  20. Joe Blow

    Australia v England

Ainsley should never have been in the squad. James Slipper was dying to be included. Naisarani was also a waste of a ticket. There should have been another legit 6/8 option who was actually available. Pocock is carrying an injury and we have Hanigan and Samu on the bench. EJ (Eddie Jones) will be wondering...
