Super Rugby AU R3 - Reds v Force

Even as they visibly tired the effort levels were right up there. Really enjoyed that game as a neutral. Hoping that's the first of a trend in Super Rugby Aus. Upbeat, high energy Rugby. Bloody beautiful.

Super Rugby AU R3 - Reds v Force

Kafer just called it a 'decent' game. Seriously? Was I watching a different game? This guy needs to be shown the door from commentary. Doing the game a disservice.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I've said this on several occasions throughout my time on various platforms but if a professional team based out of Western Sydney were to be established I'd in all likelihood jump ship or at the very least split my allegiances.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That's sort of what I was alluding to. It would be a different beast. Properly professional as opposed to semi-pro/amateur status of the NRC. If we were to see a Newcastle/Hunter team I'd be inclined to designate them the whole northern third of the state as their exclusive territory in terms...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It's all about the AB's for the NZRU. This competition as with Super Rugby will be less about commercial sustainability and growth and more about providing a testing ground for the AB squad to develop. They've actually said this in recent articles. They own the Blues outright and have majority stakes in...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think the rivalries have always been there but with Super Rugby Au it's now a week to week thing that's allows for those rivalries to build momentum and interest. As opposed to being broken up by games many have little connection to or interest in against for many are largely faceless SA/Arg squads...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You have the NZRU to thank for that.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That's right. Forgot that NZR bought out the Blues.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Could use the likes of Newcastle or even Wollongong as their base and take games to the regions. Being properly professional and promoted playing against other professional squads would be more of a draw than the NRC at present. And even then.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You just liked my post about the NZRU being the majority shareholders in each franchise. And yet you're still arguing that they would for some weird reason beyond comprehension not include one of the 5 franchise they have direct interests in. Think about this.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Oh come on mate. You know that bullshit. NZR are the majority stakeholders in the respective franchises. They're setting up the competition. Of course they are already in. Christ, pretty sure they've even come out and said that the current 5 NZ squads will form the spine of it.
  17. WorkingClassRugger

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Fairly certain they are the majority shareholders but there are distinct ownership groups behind each franchise.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Except its been mentioned that there were other parties in one of the recent articles.

    Western Force 2020

Should they? Their primary responsibility in terms of players should be to the local scene. Which I dare say they have more locals in their squad than the Brumbies and likely Rebels. But considering they were cut by RA and no longer fall under their direct mandate surely their goal should be to...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That she may be. But I think they are seriously misreading the intent behind those running and operating MLR if they think they can use it as a means of feeding into the other. They are also making some huge assumptions regarding Super Rugby. As in whether they will be a Super Rugby to to enter in the future.
