Yep agree GO , rugby gets held in high regard , but it’s not the bread winner when it comes to full fee paying customers. Most would want the best scholastic outcome for their kids , not being able to cheer home a First XV premiership.

Term 4 doesn’t have a lot of meat in it for the Year 12’s , maybe a mid term 3 start at the latest finished off over the October holidays .....

^Where will he sort out his deficiencies if not in SS ? Agree there is a lot to like and great potential, but being shown up in defense regularly in Super Rugby can't be the best way to develop.

SMH has Blyth on Rennie’s list .

    Wallabies 2020

Haven’t seen the list , but the Australian breaks it down to 14 from the Reds, 12 Brumbies, 8 Rebels and 3 Waratahs, so assuming there is a list out there somewhere. Names mentioned across a few sources that are fresh faces are Blyth , Wright , McReight , Wilson and Pasami from the Reds ; and...

Yep understand a pro league would not want a player contracted to them playing in another pro league as in QC (Quade Cooper) wanting to play NRL. Hopefully the OS pro leagues are a little more sympathetic to a contracted player having a run in an amateur comp . Would be great to see them testing their...

Could be a stacked QPR if it manages to kick off in July . First few rounds could see plenty of Reds, WBs and OS based pro players lining up for a run depending on their contracts. Have got the likes of Genia and Quade kicking around in Brisbane currently . Any word on other OS based...

Assuming it does go ahead , will be interesting how the spectator side of it is managed. There will need to be a substantial lifting of restrictions just for parents of the boys playing to be there . Little chalked X’s all 1.5m apart for the supporters to stand on. The BBQ line for a...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2020

Yep , that’s assuming government clearance at the time. Training to start June 1 . Today’s CM has an article on what the season might look like , possibly a 9-12 week comp with a 3 week finals program. Expecting a full GPS first XV season , might see AIC moved to term 3 ? Don’t think...

Club rugby could be the benefactor of all this mess upstream , with not much else going on and a feeling of disconnect higher up the food chain , hopefully more people get behind their community club and réengage with something that isn’t on the nose regarding sniff tests.

Agree, but can RA afford an upgrade? What would Gallop’s wage need to be?

My bad sorry , it’s not a return to “normal” training . A misread on my part , apologies, my keenness for rugby has lead to fake news.

UQ players have been told to prepare for a return to training in two weeks , as in if you haven’t been doing your home isolation training you better get cracking because we expect you fit and ready to rip in at training in a few weeks . Hopefully this means things looking promising for some...

This article by Wayne Smith is the first piece I’ve read from a News Ltd publication questioning the motives of NFJ and Kearns. In fact is quite harsh on them. Think Wayne is a G&GR fan , remember the “Hometown Ref” stories triggered from this forum ? Mentions just as many captains who...

Most the GPS schools are back having post game drinks , nothing served during games , but there is a near stampede towards the serving areas on the blowing of the full time whistle. The top of the grandstand and the grassed area in front of the function room at Tennyson are great spots for a...

Have heard season can still be played in some form if started by early Sept. Would overlap the start of cricket season , so might be a struggle for clubs that share grounds , but I know what I would prefer to watch.

^How are the Stingrays going these days Demon ? They had quite a coaching lineup in the late 2000’s from memory.
