    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Gilmore may look to use Kibble at 6 , think Tizzano if fit will get first crack at 7 , he was McReight’s back up last year and played well when he got some game time. The #8 from last year , Sydney lad , who’s name escapes me , I think is still eligible. He was one of the four non schoolboys...

Yes bit odd that Tizzano who is a genuine #7 and was the back up to McReight last year at the junior RWC is playing trial games for the Tahs , but Kibble is going . Maybe the back row talent after Hooper is a little thin for the Tahs ?

Ever thought that the coach’s reputation is also on the line when these teams are announced? Couldn’t imagine they would place picking players from their home state over putting the best possible team on the field. We are all pretty competitive buggers , I’m a proud Qlder , but if it was my...

Not that I’m aware of Adam , not as entire squad at least . May have had some players come together that were around from last year possibly.

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

The first camp kicks off Jan 12 in Canberra . Players have been contacted directly and “invited” to join rather than a squad formally announced. Gilmore is head coach and basically in charge of this pathway. The Australian U18 side that beat NZ last year were made up entirely of Academy...

Player managers ? They have to get a gig, any names that the Reds have missed?

    Reds 2020

Yep agree , depends on who plays 10 . If it’s Lucas/Hegarty then JOC (James O'Connor) at 12 and Stewart to the bench . If JOC (James O'Connor) plays 10 , Stewart a good chance to start at 12.

Could be wrong , but yes , think it’s the same knee injury in some shape or form since the Qld Schoolboys trials 2018.

Other thing other than age with Carter is his run of injuries . He was still in with the rehab squad last Sat at RedHill and missed a fair chunk of the back end of this season. Give him another season playing Prems / U20’s , no need to break him.

    QLD Colts 2020

Have heard the same , along with the other TSS Australian U18 front rower Blake. UQ were hoping to get the two of them to St.Lucia, along with NC’s Vella , but he now seems destined to remain in butcher stripes . Would have been a very handy front row .

    QLD Colts 2019

UQ also reported have BBC's Lucas Ripley for next season , plus the continued development of Mitch Bell recently named in the U18 Aus 7's team. Will end up a pretty slick backline.

    QLD Colts 2019

With Colts being U20's next year , it's hard to see the top 4 changing much from this year. Guess it depends on how many end up playing senior footy instead of another year of Colts. Will obviously be harder to the lads straight out of school to get a spot in Colts 1 .

    Reds 2020

Seeing the teams lined up together it was very obvious they play very different games . The position specific body shape just doesn’t exist in league anymore. What the Broncs excel at would make for a high impact but ineffective rugby team . The differences in league and union are greater than...

Yes it’s a pity the first round game against the Brumbies is in Canberra. The Brumbies melting in the afternoon sun early this year at Suncorp worked well in the Reds favour.

    Reds 2020

I thought the Reds looked good . Each team did their own warm up , once they combined it was the Broncos’ show , everything was more league specific and as you would think , the Broncos found it easier going than the Reds. Physically, thought the Reds looked sharper than same time last year .

    Reds 2020

The combined run with the Broncos this morning was brutal conditions wise . 35 degrees by 10am , visiting teams early in the season could really struggle.

It’s interesting isn’t it, that in today’s professional climate, players get overlooked/moved on for unprofessional attitudes and behaviour. I’ve never been a professional rugby player, but I’m professional at what I do .

Reds are apparently doing a combined training run with the Broncos at RedHill this Sat morning. Good to see a little cross code love . BT and PR should feel right at home .

The first Junior Wallaby combined camp is set for mid Jan 2020. Not sure when the squad gets announced.
