Phil had good success at U20’s level , coached a bunch of young lads trying to make it at Super level and that is what Link inherited. Bit like the current coach , just hope BT gets to see the rewards of the structure and culture he has put in place.

Sorry , be not being , poor on my part , few wines at lunch to blame .

Yep, you would think the best of this year in Colts would most likely being having a run in senior footy. Think it’s a good change , will challenge the lads straight out of school, but will also allow a little extra time for some.

That would be a turn up, he was at a lot of UQ games this year wearing his Red Heavies cap.

^ Jets isn't saying it takes three years for success, he's saying by the third year you have the team you want, as in not the roster left over from the last HC. Basically judge him from his results this year. I would say Link inherited a team on the way up, from a very dire low mind, but...

    Reds 2020

^ yes very nice to think they represent the state and not just a franchise. Seeing them confirm this by making the effort they just have is great. :)

    Reds 2020

^Would say that a few of the younger fellas that end up doing preseason with the senior squad are more there for the development experience. Thought Carter Gordon benefitted a lot from last season's preseason with the senior squad. Guess it also gives the Reds a look at how some of these young...

Still somewhat centralised though. RA have made an effort for each of the state’s academies to be similar in structure and what is being implemented as core skills and terminology. They seem to be now directed towards development and possible selection for Australian U18’s and U20’s , rather...

Does anyone know if Rod Seib has any role at Brothers now he is HC at the Reds Academy?

Reg , Harry Fox is in the Reds U20’s Academy ,they have been training for a couple of weeks now. Guess that is what they mean by senior academy.

Agree he is a footballer, have a look at the highlights of the recent U18's game against NZ. In our first try he throws a great pass under pressure around the 22 , runs an inside support line once the break by Pollard and Pasitoa is made , then puts in the big ones to make it to the breakdown on...

Zane was reported as 138kgs in his first year of First XV in 2017 as a sixteen year old. He played at 120kgs this year, has always been mobile for a big fella , but his movement around the field this year definitely benefitted from the weight loss. At only 18, has a heap of development ahead...

He has also had an unfortunate run of injuries to date, some of which he has attempted to carry to the detriment of form , others have stopped him altogether. Totally agree , talent to burn , but his body needs time .

    Reds 2020

My original question was to do with if the Reds and the Broncos would consider something similar to what the Blues and Warriors have managed to put together. Not ,who wants bogans at the footy ? I’ll ask another one....... Are you concerned by the crowds the Reds manage to pull, and as a...

    Brumbies 2020

Think he would only have the body shape ( read lack of height ) to play #7. There seems to be quite a few of those running around at the moment, at a guess I'd say they will choose to develop his set piece.

    Reds 2020

Quick re line I guess , sponsors would be tricky, the article makes mention of only a 45 min turn around between games.

    Brumbies 2020

Have seen him play a few times over the last 2 years and he is great in general play. Runs and hits like a league back rower and has the work rate/ethic of a flanker . Only weakness as a schoolboy has been his lineout throwing, I'm sure time with the Brumbies will sort that out in quick time.

Just read an article on Rugby Xplorer about a cross code NRL/Super Rugby double header at Eden Park next March , Raiders v Warriors followed by Brumbies v Blues. Any chance of the Reds and the Broncos having a discussion?

By previous admin are you suggesting only the CEO and coach/ DOR are making the calls ? What is the board responsible for?
