All I’m saying is that it’s a brand new pathway instigated by RA, they have thrown some weight behind it and in a very small sample size of one , it’s been successful. And yes agree , hopefully still seeing success in 3 years .

Not sure who was responsible for implementing the change, but the U18’s was more than just allowing 18 year olds who were out of school play . RA controlled the whole pathway through the Academies. Each Super franchise + WA ran an U18 squad for fairly large chunks of the year and then played...

Didn't realise Tizzano had signed with the Tahs, could be quite a wait before he gets a crack at 7. What has Hooper got left on his contract ? 4 years?

^Agree , in fact it looked a few times in the first half on Sat night that the inside channel had opened up for an inside pass of a Genia "skip", but alas it was just more of the same.

Not commenting on the player mentioned , but agree with your logic . We complain about a 9 who skips out from a ruck with too many steps before passing , but then also want a 9 who is a ball running threat . Guess it’s more about when you choose to run ?

If the BBC coaches have learnt from 2017 and again this year the importance of tactical goal kicking, or just needing a goal kicker full stop for the big games, they are a very good chance .

    Australian Schoolboys / Under 18s 2019

Do you know if he played NZ schools last year over here against Aust & Tonga? His energy , running style and dimensions remind me of Damien MacKenzie. The young fella playing 11 for NZ Barbarians is of a similar mould , great instincts and speed to burn. Nice balance with size and power of...

Would actually really like to see JOC (James O'Connor) at 12 and Petaia at 13 .

Yep , ruled out of Aust U18’s , didn’t pass the medical, has been carrying a knee injury.

All the other Academy games have been live streamed through rugby.com.au and on Rugby Xplorer. They often don’t appear up until just before kick off .

There is an Australian U18 team announced on Monday 23/09 following the Academy games being played on Sunday. That team goes straight into camp at Nudgee before flying out to play games in NZ. Not sure if this would take precedence over NRC for Carter, but he would be eligible for selection...

^ Honest answer, Churchie very good at playing tight, pick and drive style rugby, IGS aren't and it completely wears out their forwards. But also what you get with IGS. From memory lost to Churchie early in 2017 then turned around and beat TSS. 2018 nearly ( probably should have ) beat...

Anyone know if Pasitoa will get a run for the Brumbies Academy? He is in the unusual position of being at school in Qld but contracted to the Brumbies. As a result not playing for the Reds Academy, but is U18 and apparently eligible for Australian selection. He was the starting 10 on the...

Agree Adam ,great place to be with the depth in the locks/ backrow . Think the make up of the starting forward pack depends on who you start at #7. Wright or McReight ? If they start Fraser , you would think Wright would go to 6 and then competition gets tough for #8 + 4/5. If they start...

Eligibility for Malolua may not be an issue BR, read an article in today's Courier Mail about how he has been ruled out of the RWC due to a shoulder injury.
