    Wallaby Watch 2014

agree that the current backline players have locked in those places for the time being. but id still consider quade our first choice 5/8. Foley was decent against a poor french team. i wanna see how he goes for the rest of the series and in the Rugby Championship before i determine whether he...

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Horwill didnt really impress when he came on but pretty hard to properly rate his performance in the circumstance. he came on with less then 20 minutes to go with the game already won. the team got a bit sloppy in that last 10 minutes when they knew theyd won the game

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

yeh the refs are really strict on that rule these days. second rowers should know by now that the slightest contact in the air could be penalised. Simmons competes in the line-out more than most locks, so its going to happen, but its something he needs to focus on cutting out of his game.

Sad to hear Moore is out for the season. The silver-lining is that Nathan Charles will get a chance to get some good experience this season before the world cup. Hurts our chances of regaining the Bledisloe tho. Same for Sam Carter who i imagine will be back in the team for the RC. I...

Ryan was as shit as I had expected him to be. Link's selections were bang on (except for Ryan, he cant scrummage and today he was also awful in general play)

Simmons was an absolute rock in the line-out. Had a few good runs too. a real asset to the team

Game Day! Headin up to Bris after lunch with my brother and best mate. Gonna park ourselves at a bar at Caxton St. Scotch in hand by 3pm. Kiwis v Eng then on to Suncorp. Got some front row seats. I imagine I'll be pretty "animated" by the time i get to the game. I'll be giving plenty to the...

I reckon Kepu's performance tomorrow night is crucial. If he can hold up the scrum we should do well. If' he's off his game, we could be in a bit of trouble. Whatever potential Ryan has, he's not currently fulfilling it. He's got the size but his technique needs work. If Kepu goes down early i...

Hawko - I thought you had a good point there, not sure why you had to take a swipe at Qlders.

Yeh some training footage would be good. They showed a bit last night, but not much.

    Rugby TV Shows

people seem to be complaining more about what wasn't on the show than what was on the show. I had no major problems with the show but agree with other, there are some big rugby events coming up this week/weekend that probably should have got some coverage. GaffaChino - I thought that Horan...

The decision to choose White sure. The decision not to put Genia on the bench I'm a little bit less sure of. in great Super form, but im not sold on whether Phipps is a test quality 9. People seem to have short memories. go back 12 months and some people were slagging off Deans for including him...

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Comments by Horan last night seemed sensible - that McKenzie wants to have a look at each of his 9s during the series. In that regard, it was probably easier/better for McKenzie to give Phipps a shot in the first test and leave out Genia, rather than starting Genia on the bench in the first and...

Well for starters they could have cut the segment where Sharpe cooked a toasted sandwich. I think Terry J has a decent point. I would have liked to have seen a short preview of the All Blacks v England game. Believe it or not I think its games like the All Blacks v England that will actually...

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

the story they ran basically said even with strong tickets sales over the next 4 days and a solid walk up crowd they would only get about 29k. Now only two days later the ARU estimates 35+ ?? the article clearly wasnt accurate qwerty

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

On Rugby HQ they said that the crowd for Saturday is going to be in the mid-to-high 30s. turns out it was all a load of bullshit. fuckn journos

True Qwerty. But fuck that's what those sports journos signed on for. A life time of writing about nothing. why I could have never been a sports journo (despite the fact that I would have made a particularly good one :D)

Seems to happen in a lot of games. happens a lot before we play the boks too...and England. I would prefer the team (and the aussie press) to stay silent on the issue

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

I see there a bunch of articles circling about how the wallabies are going to "up the aggression" and "get physical" etc. I really wish the journos wouldn't do this to the wobs before even god damn test. It's like waving a red flag at a bull. Talking about how our team is going to be physical...
