What about Pone??? If anybody could be repurposed, I reckon he would be pretty high on the list. Big and fast.

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

Makes me a bit misty, actually. I lived in Newey for a couple of years when I first came back to Oz. I was living in the city when Newcastle beat Manly, that was a big night. Hope this is a bit like that.

Nah, his biggest problem is his hair. He needs to shave it all off.

How long until kick-off. The natives are getting restless. :)

Having that gigantic afro did help absorb some of the shock.

He is now unchallenged as our best rake, I reckon, he has skyrocketed in the last few games.

Whoever wears the 6 jersey against this Argie team will be under the pump. While I think there has been a lot too much unfounded criticism about Hanigan, this is one time that I am a bit surprised to see him starting.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Macqueen and Dwyer played a fair bit of first grade. I think Macqueen might have played for NSW? Jones never played the game to my knowledge. He was a pretty handy tennis player, though.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

What the bloody hell is there to understand? It is not philosophy, it is sport. There are no rights and wrongs, there is just playing the game and winning, or losing. Commentators should tell us only what we cannot see with our own eyes. Identify the players, explain the refereeing decisions...

The really good thing about Sean is that he was just a club footballer, so he doesn't think that he knows everything about the game. He just describes what is happening, without pontificating all the bloody time, like quite a few former "stars".

    Reds 2021

The team played 100 tough minutes the week before, some of them were a bit under par, for sure. No team would make the final with a 10 who was not good enough for the comp.

    Reds 2021

Could be. But he is a pretty handy young prospect. And if he is, so what? JOC (James O'Connor) and To'omua are both 10s who can play 12. Or should that be 12s who can play 10? He reminds me of two pretty handy Eastwood 10s. The first, John Ballesty, went across to league, of course, he was a strong defender and...

Rennie lives at Sanctuary Cove. The mere fact of him watching TSS play does not necessarily mean he only went because he was interested in Fifita. Could be just paper talk.

Could have been a smokescreen, of course. Confuse-a-cat.

This dropping Hooper thing is a bit of a can of worms, the more I think about it. If it happens, it has to be permanent as far as the captaincy is concerned, anyway.

Idi Amin played rugby. Maybe he coached the Ugandan national team? He was known for chopping off a few heads in his time.

I was not thinking about next season, my guess is that Rennie would not want to annoint a new captain just yet, chopping and changing the most senior playing position is not something to be done lightly. That said, I have never been a great fan of Hooper as a captain. But who is next?

Sorry, but I disagree. The captaincy of a national team should not be decided on a match by match basis.
