Do the Wicks have a chance of beating Souths on Saturday? (Same team named as last week's run on side ie no LaLa)

I thought the Uni boys arrived on a bus anyway ;)

    Shute Shield 2013

My only worry is that some of the alleged behaviour from lower graders at various clubs this year has been commonplace at league games for 10 years....hope we're not heading in that direction. Maybe Uni should distribute some of their well educated and perfectly behaved players amongst the...

Horwitz continues to impress. His try in Argentina was very similar to one he scored for NSWU19 last year (on YouTube). Like to see him run more!

SofP, thanks for the clarification! There was a previous post (not from me) suggesting the ARU funding has not been received this year. Do you know whether this is true? My real gripe is that various members of the NSWRU (eg Nick F-J) keep dropping hints about some committee or other...

Financed by? The Melbourne and Perth teams would need to be propped up by players from Sydney clubs and then you're back to the ARC problem where Sydney Uni players were spread across the whole competition thus destroying tribal loyalties.

Player points for last weekend make interesting reading again: Souths 94 Manly 80 Easts 70 Norths 58 Eastwood 53 Uni 48 Randwick 40 (Hoiles =20) Wests 29 Is there any point is continuing this farce?

    Shute Shield 2013

Whilst I agree with you it was only of this standard as there were about 20 super or test players (give or take a few) on the field. This doesn't happen during the competition rounds. Maybe we need to re-visit the format of several years ago when we had a 1 round SS comp (without rep players)...

    MANLY 2013

I couldn't help thinking that different rules were being applied to the two teams. Uni conceded a string of penalties early in the match in the red zone but not even a caution from the ref and then twice late in the second half Tilse stood up in the scrum before the ball was out and the ref...

Some unacceptable comments there, but Carter sure doesn't do anything to stop the taunts. I noticed while the rest of the Uni team were celebrating the win Tom immediately ran over to the hill to have a go at his knockers. They won't stop until he does!

I notice Drew Mitchell is playing for Balmain on Saturday before heading to France. Pity he didn't decide to play for the Wicks! (Although, on second thoughts, he probably hasn't played enough games this year as I think Balmain is still his nominated club.)

2nd grade is not playing until Sunday so all the reserves will be fresh.

Hepetema was quoted recently as saying he was planning to play in the ITM Cup and then return to Aus to try for a S15 contract with the Waratahs. Guess he got a better offer!

I believe there are 10 members of the NSWRU board (not all employees) and 1 of those (Bruce Warboys) is the executive director and he also sits on the board of the SRU. The other members of the SRU board may be elected by the clubs but the board is definitely not independent of the NSWRU as far...

Pete, there's been a lot of discussion about this on the Shute Shute 2013 forum with some good suggestions and some more negative. IMO the problem lies with the player points cap which just hasn't achieved the spreading of the talent between the clubs. It's actually assisted Uni's business model...

OK, but I seem to remember they pushed us all over the park in round 1 and Lolohea played in 2nds that day.
