    Rebels 2021

They still could. Just after the A season. Club Rugby is great but not at the standard of play needed without some kind of sudden and significant influx of capital to essentially bring a large number of them to the level of low level professional players.

Super Rugby Au Rnd 4 - Brumbies V Reds Gio Stad Canberra 13Mar

Really enjoyed that game. Enjoyed last night's game as well. It's been a good weekend of Rugby. God I hope the Tahs can rise to meet the standard being set.

    Rebels 2021

What I'd like to see is a fully fleshed out TT 'A' schedule running in parallel with the TT competition from 2022.

    Waratahs 2021

Which is why they won't be the ones to ever do it. Though, having a team based out of the region isn't necessarily the key factor in developing the overall game. The Waratahs could be well supported in theory without having to be based in the west if they actually invested in and engaged with...

Confirmation the Derpus is a secret NSWRU double agent.

    Waratahs 2021

Forget the talent. It's the millions of dollars in development that he's about to spend on building the Rugby scene and pathways in Austin and LA. Western Sydney has been utterly neglected for far too long and that kind of spend could have gone a long way.

Was injured. Looks like the A game was to give him a run.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

If anyone is interested in watching MLR this season they are about to launch their own free to view streaming platform. Not sure what it will be called but it will be up before the season kicks off next week.

    Waratahs 2021

That and it's pretty established many fans from east of the ANZAC Bridge/North of the Harbour don't like to travel west.

    Waratahs 2021

Well, hopefully the funds freed up will allow for a spend on a quality lock and not having to resort to the budget options.

    Australian Rugby / RA

They could look at doing it in September as a 16 team straight knock out competition.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Matt Giteau has signed with LA in MLR.

I actually think we'd only need Rodda and Skelton from that list.

    Waratahs 2021

As Braveheart suggests the likes of McCauley did actually spend a fair bit of time in the Shute Shield. What has always been needed is one of two things. Either the Shute Shield moves to become a lower level professional structure allowing for players to better focus on Rugby or we maintain the...

    Waratahs 2021

Then there needs to be more put into raising the level of the Shute Shield if that's going to be the pathway. Which I'm not against. Or look to maintain and properly resource the NRC.

    Waratahs 2021

Hard to argue that. As the largest market and talent pool it should be working harder than the rest.

    Waratahs 2021

We're in a complete rebuild of the squad. And it's going to be a painful process.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I think metro. only similar to last week. It's not surprising either as NSW/Qld is traditionally the biggest draw. Going off last week where it the broadcast topped 200k the FTA component made up 3/4 of that. So we could estimate somewhere between 120-140k with regionals for last night.

    Waratahs 2021

I can actually see what Penney is trying to do here. And that's a complete rebuild of the squad. Essentially similar to what we saw with the Reds but probably to a greater degree. It's tough to endure as a fan. And may not work out. But that's how I see it.

    Waratahs 2021

Something that's really standing out to me at least from the first two games for the Tahs is the utter lack of leadership on the field. And I'm not talking about the bloke with the big C next to his name. Though neither have wowed me in the role in any way. But the utter lack of anyone willing...
