    Waratahs 2021

Certainly would help and should be seriously looked at. But it will need significant efforts to engage with kids beyond just advertising it locally. We're going to have to actually go out to places like schools to get those kids interested and coming out. We've been out of place of prominence...

    Waratahs 2021

That sort of initiative could be revived as part of such a plan. Particularly at the club level. Have DO operating out of the hubs make initial contact featuring several visits and setting up the pathway to funnel any interested kids to clubs running something similar to the Walla Rugby program...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

For any expansion of teams we need the capital to get it done. That's the biggest obstacle. Not only to set up 2-3 more teams but bring back and sign talent from overseas. It's going to cost a lot of money. If we could find the money then I'd be all for it.

    Waratahs 2021

The issue with those kind of programs I find is the lack of follow up and defined pathway from initial engagement to actual sustained participation. I'm not talking about single visits, hand out some gear and info. I'm talking about sustained engagement. Not just a means of tallying numbers like...

    Waratahs 2021

I've always viewed the captaincy as more of a admin role for the most part. When combined with leadership its great (as the best captains often do) but a leader within a team doesn't necessarily holds the position. The problem I see is that in general the Tahs are severely lacking anyone either...

    Waratahs 2021

The only issue I have with 7s is that it doesn't really translate well to the basic structures of the broader 15 man game. Which is why I'd prefer 10s as it's still plenty open but has more focus on scrums etc. Which are necessary in terms of developing tight 5 play. It would also be generally...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

In order to pull that off we're going to need to see significant levels of investment.

The AusKick approach would have marginal benefits in terms of participation from what I can tell. It's not as though AFL is a foreign concept to the school system in the west of the city. It was an option back in my primary school days. Which ended 23 years ago. And I'm not suggesting we have...

    Waratahs 2021

Yeah, it would require some radical thinking in terms of how Rugby operates. That being nothing that actually would qualify as radical to you or me just to those involved in the established pathways. If I were to run this I'd set up as I mentioned previously regional hubs. Part of these hubs...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Not suggesting Japan would or should merge their property. Japan has outlined the basic structure of their new league being a 12 team 1st division competing over 16 rounds plus finals. With room built in for a cross border competition. Time zones would suggest the best candidates for that...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

What I think we need to figure out is the direction we want to go toward. CVC has just acquired 14% of the 6Ns and are now apparently looking at acquiring a similar share in SA Rugby. So I think we will see some significant realignment s occurring up north in the near future. Part of the...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'm fine with either. Probably leaning a little more towards the national competitions format we have at present. But I think we need to account for what broadcasters want as well. And I think a combined league may be their option.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

We could but from all the language I've seen it seems that a combined is looking most likely for 2022 and beyond.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Each Aus team would play each NZ team once. So 25. 30 when taking the extra game against Fiji/Moana year to year.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think the easiest and best solution is to have a 16 rounds TT competition with teams playing home and away against their national rivals with both Fiji and Moana alternating. So in 2022 Fiji will play all of the Aus team twice while Moana the NZ before switching in 2023. And one game against...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

What might be an option if we were to go down that path is both Super Rugby Au and So run a 6 team structure each. Determine a champion. Then alongside the top 6 from the upcoming Japanese Pro League for AP Cup.

    Waratahs 2021

As far as I'm aware the Auskick folks don't set up proper competition s do they? Which is were if we ever were to do such a thing we could differ. Should be done in cooperation with what clubs existing in the region as well as seeding new clubs in black spots without any. Might make your job a...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

About right in terms of ratings overall. Game deserved more but so far everything is holding up.

    Rebels 2021

Unfortunately that may work out to be the case. Unless the money is found to either support the Melbourne and Perth comps in similar moves or to get some kind of representative teams involved in the respective Sydney and Brisbane comps.
