Waratahs v Sharks, round 14, Saturday 16 May

Ryan not supporting his own weight, but the Sharks player was isolated. Those normally go against the attacking team, so that one wasn't too bad from Hoffman.

Waratahs v Sharks, round 14, Saturday 16 May

His left side (facing his own tryline) hits with his left arm cocked by his side. His right arm comes across initially then goes back. A half hearted attempt from the opposite arm from the likely "shoulder charge" side doesn't constitute an attempt to use arms, in my opinion. Anyway, it's done.

Waratahs v Sharks, round 14, Saturday 16 May

Did a Tahs player fall the wrong way on a ruck, knock the ball, and Hoffman ignore that as the reason the ball went out? A Sharks player, on the ground, they dives on the ball, another penalty. Hoffman then finds a Sharks knock on. Comical.

I reckon he was in touch prior to the grounding. So the Beale tackle rule will be critical. And they ignore the Beale tackle.

No arms in that tackle from Beale. Just threw his body. Wonder what they will rule?

That was a Latu knock on on the second or third go? Or was I seeing things? Sharks steal, Steyn grubbers ahead, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) cleans up. Sharks are finding heaps of space but are chipping and grubbering away all ball as soon as they see the last defender.

Folau with a couple of pearler kicks.

Sharks lineout is a complete mess. They lose another one on their throw, this one 15m from the Tahs line.

Waratahs v Sharks, round 14, Saturday 16 May

Surely that should be a penalty to the Sharks for the lifters dropping AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) off the kickoff?

Tahs have turned down a couple of 40m to 45m penalty shots this game to go for the lineouts. Beale slips into a tackle, and Hoffman calls high. Not sure on that, there was absolutely nothing the defender could do. But, the Tahs will take a shot from nearly in front.

To be fair, the leadup to that try came from a Sharks throw that wasn't straight, missed by Hoffman. Most of the points in this game have come after Hoffman errors. Beale counters, finally recovers one of his chips this year but is instantly forced into touch.

That Sharks throw was not straight, right in front of Hoffman. He got Hoiles' knock on, though. Steyn in under the posts. Inept attack from the Sharks, then they finally find the Tahs way short on the left and they stroll through after some nice offloads. Beale with a dishonourable mention...

Foley rubs salt into the Sharks wounds. 20 - 11 to the Tahs from a try with no clear grounding set from an illegal maul construction which the ref refused to look at on replay. Tahs should buy a lottery ticket after this game!

Yup, penalty at the lineout. Wow. Just wow.

Waratahs v Sharks, round 14, Saturday 16 May

That's no try by the looks, but if we go back to the lineout I am pretty sure that ball was lost backwards, not given. Wonder if they will look at the maul or not.

Steyn misses, 13 - 11 to the Tahs. Tahs finishing hasn't been happening this game since after the first minute.

Tahs should be up by so much.

Penalty Tahs at the breakdown, but Latu overthrows. Fantastic counter attack from the Tahs thanks to big T and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) get them a few metres out. They lose the ball, Sharks kick through and the Tahs are back on their 40m.

Yes, it was Hoffman. This game is bizarre.
