    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

Maybe, maybe not. Who knows really. Surely it's not a good sign already having a plan B on the bench.

Unnecessary - Yes. Poorly executed - No.

In isolation, I don't think the offload was necessarily a poorly executed one as it was literally on Ikatau's chest. But I like your point that he probably shouldn't have thrown it to some-one who clearly wasn't expecting it, and all round poor decision-making (Coopers) led to an error.

    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

I think the first offload was fine, Ikatua was in the clear and it bounced off his chest. I blame Ikatua more on that one, and also a lack of game-time between the two. The second one to Slippers head was unnecessary.

Strange reason from Rennie there. It wouldn't give Foketi a load of confidence knowing Rennie is already planning for his poor performance.

    Aussie Player Exodus

I agree, given his skillset, would fit nicely at 12/13.

To be fair, in that previous shocker JOC (James O'Connor) had, the one thing he did look good at was his footwork and running game (surprisingly). So I remain hopeful.

    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

I wasn't criticizing I was just managing expectations. I think the squad is the right call given the injures and current players available. I'm excited about Foketi and I think he has loads of potential. JOC (James O'Connor) I'm more nervous about but it was flip of a coin between JOC (James O'Connor) and Lolesio and I think an...

I honestly can't remember Kellaway being tested under the high ball often but he is such a smart and clinical rugby player it certainly passes the smell test. I wonder how many games he has played at fullback now.

    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

Maybe it's as simple as he is not performing well enough in training.

The backline combo lacks any game-time together, I sense a bit or rusk this game. JOC (James O'Connor) and Foketi not sure how they will combine.

    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

Yeah seems strange, almost like a plan B if Foketi doesn't perform well.

Well this is going no-where. I have more traditional views and prefer players have more experience in one position and you think otherwise. Agree to disagree.

Personally, i would have Tate there every day of the week. Based on some of Rennie's interviews I recall he stated he preferred Gordon as he was more of a game manager similar to White. He prefers this for certain opposition as opposed to a running threat.

    Wallabies 2023

I agree with the first paragraph. But I thought AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) was a better 13 then Horne but was shifted to fullback as we were lacking depth there. I feel Horne was selected on potential, not because he was the best 13 (as AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) was). I feel the same about Petaia. Banks is a better 15. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Beale...

    Wallabies 2023

So it's better for AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) but that does not necessarily mean it's better for the team. The best rugby teams from history have mostly had specialists in each position.

    Wallabies 2023

Just imagine how good AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) would have been if he played 121 tests at 13 only. Its great to get a single cap, let alone 121, or 56, but deep down every player wants to be a regular starter.

    Wallabies 2023

Because this is a wallabies rugby forum where we discuss positions and players etc. No he is not injured.

    Wallabies 2023

Banks, Kellaway, and Wright have all been good under the high ball.

Oh man how could I forgot about Perese. Probably the most destructive runner out of all of them. He's got a bright future if he keeps improving on his defence. Still prefer Petaia at 13. I'd just hate to see him end up as a Hodge or AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) who becomes a utility and never nails down a spot.
