    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

True, but we got the same problems as 11 years ago. Primarily players lacking core skills of their position.

Surely we did have some-one who could scrummage better then Alexander though. I can't believe how many caps he managed to accrue.

    Who is that?

    Wallabies 2023

Agreed. But this isn't really a one-off. We seem to be having this issue across the park, although not as quite obvious as the Wright case. How many of our props have difficulty scrummaging. How many of our halfbacks poor passing. How many flyhalfs poor game-management. Fullbacks who can't...

I agree with this. But I don't think it's the test level coach who should be coaching Wright where to stand in fullback. Those skills surely are taught well before that, at schoolboy, club and super rugby level. Having a Test coach having to teach the basics of each position to each player...

To be fair, I'm pretty sure Rennie has played the All Blacks more times then anyone else. Win percentage helps depending on the opposition.

I don't think anyone is really defending the players. Mainly just putting things into perspective. Many are defending the coach, as we've been through 4 different coaches now with similar results. I think it's safe the say the coach ain't the primary issue. We simply don't have access to the...

Who else is there after Lolesio? Realistic options he could have brought into camp in the last 3 years? Harrison is the only one. Edmed, Donaldon are only on the radar from this year.

Yeah bringing in JOC (James O'Connor) when he openly said he wasn't "sharp enough" was a bad call. Why put him on the bench if he knowingly knew he wasn't training well. I understand the first Test since Cooper when down in the warm up, but then Hodge should have been brought in straight away for the second and...

All eggs aren't in one basket. We have Cooper, JOC (James O'Connor) and Lolesio as experienced options now. This was more then we had 2 years ago. It is really a step down from Foley, Lealifano, Cooper last RWC cycle?

Maybe he is doing exactly what is right for Lolesio's development. Chucking an under developed 10 into the wolves could be the worst thing to do which could hinder his confidence and development. Serving an apprenticeship under the like of Cooper or more experienced players may be exactly what...

    Brumbies 2023

He's served the Brumbies and Wallabies well, happy for him. Still a small chance he come's back for the wallabies.

I hear Scott Robinson is looking for an international gig ;) I'd love to snag him just to annoy the 75% of ABs fans that want fozzie gone, plus they would be stuck with him for longer. Double win.

Such a shame, thought he was pretty solid on the weekend and had his best super rugby season.

    Wallabies 2023

I don't think you're being hard on him. I think there is just something about Lolesio that doesn't scream a great 10, I think it is just a lack of any sign of leadership or game-management. He can run, kick, pass and follow a game-plan but he just doesn't seem to have a voice out there. I fear...

Larkham as HC at the Brumbies next year, he will have a pretty damn good mentor for how 10's should play. Not that I rate Larkham as a coach but Lealifano certainly improved as a 10 when Larkham was backs/attack coach at the Brums.

    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

To be fair he did have the skillset for a solid 10, even from a leadership point of view. How was anyone suppose to know he was going to start crabbing all the time.

I don't agree with most your posts regarding training too hard, but this one is pretty damn spot on! haha

I thought McReight had a lot in the Aust A games and in super rugby. Yeah Hooper clearly hasn't had a great year but he is usually so consistent. Penalties aside, McReight is far from the finished product. Still makes silly decisions (like that pick and go close to the line) and often and is...

    Wallabies 2023

I can certainly see him come into the extended squad but I just don't see him in the same class as Cooper and would be unlikely to make the 23. Given his skillset, he offers nothing that Lolesio can't do. And his biggest strengths being his running game and support play I feel deteriorate with...
