sounds like the rebels were absolutely horrible tonight against the chiefs. 36-0! any comments from those in attendance?

doubtful he'll ever go to league. his position within rugby and the wallabies means he'll never make as much money in league as he does in rugby. higginbotham would be superb. looking forward to a sell out v the tahs and a significantly more entertaining game than last years.

Delve would be a massive loss. Lipman as well. Perhaps saffy will convert to 7. Timmy Davo has looked solid last season and could play number 6 or 8. Chamberlain also had some solid performances in the NPC this past year at 8 and 6. at lock, i think we'll have one of campbell and byrnes around...

let's stop this before it starts up. this place isn't a forum for which city is better so let's not get into melbourne v sydney.

Again. The problem isn't brisbane for quade, the problem is quade. he seems to be doing somewhat better lately. I think the world cup and his injury will force an attitude adjustment. I think his ongoing relationship with Khoder is damaging him. It is a terrible strategy for a player such as...

I disagree with these comments on Kurtley and JOC (James O'Connor). First of all, there seems little evidence of a drinking culture in melbourne, rather, as mentioned there seems to be a drinking culture in danny cipriani. The Melbourne drinking culture seems to be fabricated by that numbskull growden. The...

its a very weird thing to do. I attended some of the u-20 soccer world cup back in canada a few years ago. I was at a Japan v Nigeria game and there were people in barcelona jerseys.....i don't understand it. probably never will. even at the rebels last year there would be people wearing...

He must have known. the policy is no foreign based players. he was never a chance as long as he's here. excited to see owen farrel in the white though.

you can't force anyone to support a team. but if you support them, ya gotta support them day in day out! not most weeks of the year. just my thoughts and I assure you I won't be trying to force anyones support! only giving you a hard time Dazzler! in heaven, we're all rebels fans. nothing...

i'm a platinum member as well. the crowd are well behaved, mostly beer drinkers although in the seats closest to the field in the platinum section there is a fair bit of shiraz and chardonnay being drunk by some of the more preppy members. I find that there is a lot of abuse hurled at the refs...

Professional Rugby set for the USA

while the top league is the B.C premier league, the top level domestically is the Canadian Rugby Championships which is played across canada with a B.C team, Prairie team, Ontario/Quebec team and East Coast representing the maritimes. The eventual plan is for Ontario and Quebec to split into...

Professional Rugby set for the USA

wouldn't surprise me. London, Mcmaster, Queens and Uof T all have strong uni rugby programs and the grass roots game is definitely growing in ontario. reading the 2010 AGM report, B.C has 5,500 registered players while ontario has over 9,000....that is a significant figure by any standards...

Professional Rugby set for the USA

toronto is big and would draw crowds, but wouldn't draw crowds from the rest of eastern canada. its too far from ottawa and montreal and miles from the eastern coast. again though, if its a western focused league. Tdot won't be in the cards. however it should be in the future as they are wanting...

Professional Rugby set for the USA

Toronto would be key in the future. Its a city of 4M people. The first major test with proper advertising took place in toronto last summer, they got a little over 10,000 fans to BMO stadium which is built specifically for soccer and thus rugby. That was a test against the USA. I just neglected...

Professional Rugby set for the USA

They can have the season across the whole of the continent provided they are able to start it in april/early may and end no later than October/November. that provides a fairly long season and means games could be played in new york, toronto, denver etc. the length means that they could also...

exactly. three alternatives, at least two of whom are as good or better than cipriani and have played more rugby in the past 12 months....add to that rugby in england in the wet.

    Rebels 2012

i doubt cipriani will get a call up as well. he didn't play much rugby last season. the only rugby he's played recently was the barbarians game and that was a bit of a debacle. Charlie Hodgson has experience and is a relatively stable hand and I'd expect young farrell to get a bit of time off...

    Rebels 2012

I don't see why hilgendorf would be on the bench. he provides cover for 10/12. JOC (James O'Connor) can slip into ten and provide a much better replacement for cipriani if need be. 12 could be covered by mortlock, or beale for players already on the field. I would be surprised if hilgendorf gets much game time...

I don't see Cips adding much prowess to that combo, however, i'll give him a free pass till the warm up games and see how he goes. Despite his supposed efforts in the off season, i don't see how he's going to turn his defense around. I'd have let him go back to england!
