    Lions Tour 2013

The only thing consistent about the IRB is their inconsistency. Cardiff the only way a potential ban could be applied retrospectively is if the Wallabies decided to suspend Horwill themselves. They're not going to do that and I wouldn't in their place either. As many people have stated on...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

If/when it changes I'm sure Aus fans will not be as critical of him. For now they can only judge (despite what Digby says) him on his performance in the first test. Some of the criticism is over the top but most is pretty appropriate imho.

    Lions Tour 2013

The problem with Youngs is he's too similar a player to Genia, but Genia is the master. Murray has come on leaps and bounds this season after losing his way a little bit the year before. He's gone back to being more the type of player he was when he first made the breakthrough and now seems to...

    Lions Tour 2013

The thing about Heaslip in the last year or so is that he's worked really hard on improving other aspects of his game. Given that big runs were a major part of his game prior to this year, when he isn't making those runs it's very easy to miss the other work he does and assume he did nothing all...

    Digby WTF?

The only details I've read about the assault was that it was a scuffle over an iPhone.

    Lions Tour 2013

Corbisiero & Roberts are both struggling to be fit for Saturdays game. The Lions medical team say Corbs should definitely be fit for the 3rd test. Gatland has said he has to think about whether to call up more cover in light of this news. Lions have already equaled the record of 8 replacement...

Rebels v Lions - Tuesday 25 June, AAMI Park

Didn't see the game, just caught the highlights. Will watch it later once it's available to download. Apparently Lachlan Mitchell has been cited for a tackle on Zebo.

Australian Sport TV Ratings.. Rugby Falling

Sky UK have had internet viewing for a number of years now. They did a big overhaul in the last year to make it more friendly for mobile devices such as tablets. Since I'm in Tokyo I watch all of my rugby through their sky go. I have access to all channels on my subscription including the 5.5...

    Digby WTF?

Do the Wallaby players snort or inject said criminals? ;)

    Lions Tour 2013

I agree. The selection for the Brumbies game gave a huge indication that Gatland viewed the final 2 midweeks games almost as an inconvenience. There was no real feeling that the players were playing for places and those who were in with a possible shout weren't helped by the poor selections...

    James Horwill cited for stamping

The attitude of rugby players and fans is something that makes me love it even more. The players belt the crap out of each other on the field for 80 minutes while we fans rib the shit out of each other at the same time. But once the final whistle goes it's handshakes all round and let's all go...

    James Horwill cited for stamping

Have to say I find some of the "magic bullet" explanations of Horwill actions, from some Aus fans, very amusing. Guy shouldn't be crucified or anything, but he should have been found guilty. As I said before I am glad he gets to play the remainder of the tests. Enough top players on both sides...

    Lions Tour 2013

Hope Phillips is benched at least. He needs a kick up the ass and a reminder that he's not a guaranteed starter. Would put Murray in simply because he's looked impressive on tour and Youngs wasn't very good when he came on. Murray is prone to having the odd shocker of his own also, hope he can...

    James Horwill cited for stamping

Wrong decision. But still glad he'll be there for the other 2 tests.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Absolutely agree. Kicking for goal is one of the worst aspects of the Wallabies play, especially when compared to other top test teams. There is a lot of room for improvement and a dedicated kicking coach, working on the training paddock with the kickers, would make a huge difference. I know...

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

I struggle to comprehend the Australian obsession with moving one of your best performers to an unfamiliar position. Folau is an excellent full back and showed last night he's an excellent wing at the highest level. Why move him around until you find a position that he can't perform at, at test...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Re-watched the game this morning and it was just as entertaining without my heart in my mouth for the entire 80 minutes.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

It definitely will be a close series. One thing that might be different from last time is that the Lions know they have a hell of a lot to work on for the 2nd test.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Aus back row as a unit was excellent. Thought that Heaslip was the standout for the Lions. Warburton will be retained for the 2nd test and Croft may be the one to miss out.
