Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Very exciting game. Delighted we won, but feel sympathy for Beale. Really thought Aus were gonna nick it at the end. Especially when we blew that scrum in front of the posts. Bring on the 2nd test. If it's even half as exciting as this one it will be a cracker.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

What an amazing game so far. Take your state of origin and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Who needs a smart phone app. I'm in one of the most technologically advanced cities in the world and at the game against Wales at the weekend they had girls walking around the stands with trays of chilled canned beer to sell. Then for anyone who went to the actual bother of going down to queue...

2013 IRB Junior World Championship - France

Yep the last round of games all take place on the 23rd. Aus v Ireland is on at 3pm local time and is the curtain raiser for the France v Arg game. The SA v NZ 3rd place play-off is on at 3:15 and is the curtain raiser for the final between Wales & England at 6:45.

2013 IRB Junior World Championship - France

Aren't Aus in the 7th/8th place playoff against us? Argentina and France play-off for 5th/6th.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Rather underwhelmed by the Lions 23 for the first test. Starting team is pretty good. But the bench isn't one I'd want to be looking to, to turn the game back in our favour.

They do love their seafood, it's the largest section in any supermarket and there are plenty of seafood restaurants. But if you're not too fond of it that's not a problem. There are plenty of different restaurants that specialize in other foods such as noodles, chicken, pork etc. I read...

    2013 EOYT

I think in terms of the extended tours (playing club/provincial teams) it would be difficult outside of Ireland to get a sellout. Munster v NZ/Aus/SA would definitely sell out. Plus it would be a hell of a game, just look at the Munster v NZ game a few years ago. That was more memorable to...

    Lions Tour 2013

Also wanted to say how fantastic the Aus crowds have been so far in the series. They've really gotten into the spirit, made lots of noise and supported their teams. It should make for fantastic atmosphere at the test matches. Leaving a Lions series win aside, if there was one other thing I...

    Lions Tour 2013

I don't think Croft is a bad player, he;s actually pretty good. Just maybe not the type of player you want to start the first test. It's going to be a complete shit fight for the first 60 minutes and the Lions will need every able body to get the breakdowns. Having one less player who can do the...

Brumbies v British & Irish Lions Tuesday 18 June 2013

Well done to the Brumbies. Very good value for their win and it would have been a shame if we had pinched it at the end. I thought for the Lions Faletau & Kearney did really well. Hibbard was excellent when he came on, Best stood out for the terrible lineout throwing. The likes of Barrett...

You'll really love it over here if you do manage to make a visit. It's not too difficult to pick up the odd phrase to make sure you have the niceties covered. Japanese love to practice their English too, so more complex communication won't be that difficult. Most signs are in Kanji...

    Lions Tour 2013

There were better players then Shane Williams that could have been called up. He's not been playing at a high enough level to justify his call up. Unless the Lions finances are in the same state as the ARU then the fact he was flying to watch the tests anyway is no reason to give away a Lions...

    Other June Tests 2013

Although Kiss was only the interim coach it's good to hear him talk about attacking intent, especially since he's being retained on the coaching staff. Also great to see Fergus McFadden got a hat-trick, probably one of the most under rated of the new batch of backs coming through for Ireland.

Shane Williams has also been called up and all three go straight into the team to play the Brumbies.

    Japan Beats Wales

Posted this in the other thread before I spotted this one, guess it would sit better here. I was at the game today. It was packed. 25,000 fans who were very enthusiastic if not so knowledgeable. Game was really exciting, so much so that there was none of the usual looking over the wall at the...

I was at the game today. It was packed. 25,000 fans who were very enthusiastic if not so knowledgeable. Game was really exciting, so much so that there was none of the usual looking over the wall at the score of the baseball game next door. It really was a very hot day today and probably very...

    Other June Tests 2013

Congrats to James Downey on making his Ireland debut at 32. I think under a different coach he would have hit double figures for cap over the last 5 years. Especially when D'Arcy was in terrible form and there were no standout options playing in Ireland, at the same time he was playing really...

    Lions Watch

It really looks like the quality of the Lions squad is going to be tested to its limits with all the injuries. As usual those called up as injury cover have a better chance at a test spot than dubious initial squad selections.

I think as always the team who had the best preparation will be the one that wins the test series, hindsight being 20-20 etc. The host country resting their test players will continue until the Lions start winning test series again. When that happens there will probably be a lot of talk about...
