    CAS U16s 2016

Syd over Country 41-0 NSW u15s over Country by 20-odd NSW schools over Syd 24-17 NSW schools looked very slick in patches during the first half today and went in at oranges ahead 19-0. But they lost their way a bit in the 2H and have some work to do at the breakdown in particular where they...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Will played quite a bit of 10 for Gordon at this years JSC. He handles it well.

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Check out the CAS u16s thread for team lists. Agree re NSW schools team. Put your ball players in the middle and your finishers (who are not as keen on / capable passing) on the fringes. NZ tour is a first afaik. 7 days in Auckland, 3 matches v local rep sides. If the team keep playing...

Interesting perspective RF14. In your opinion, is it simply a happy coincidence that 3 of the 2015 nswjru u15s turned up at Barker for the first time in 2016 Yr 10?

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Yes officially 22.5 to accomodate the max 90 min per day rule, but have been more like 27.5 in practice. NSWRU u15s have been the stand out, defeating the Syd u16s and only just going down to NSW Schools u16s in the dying minutes. Their enthusiasm and rucking has been exceptional and I think...

Yes, speed for speeds sake is all well and good but not much use to CAS opens unless the proponent is playing the game.

Think you are short of W players. May need to reassess.

Interesting to see a few of the other boys mentioned above running last night. In 16s Byron HD recorded fastest 100m time with 11.24, Cameron 11.5 and Towns not far behind with 11.99. Throw in Lloyd and you could make up a pacey CAS backline next year.

    NSW AAGPS 2017

It's encouraged for those who aspire to play 1sts/2nds/16As, but not compulsory eg, 2015 1st XV captain Harry Chapman, was also in the 1st XI throughout his senior years.

I'd be very surprised if it's Waves - they are a proud rugby school and generally up for a battle wherever it may be. Barker doesn't make a huge amount of sense either - sure they may have been a bit weaker this year, but these things are cyclical - 3 years ago that were unbeatable in the CAS.

Admit I'm struggling to see which would be materially worse off than under the present comp structure. Which do you think?

    NSW Primary School Rugby teams

^^^Not sure ARU are the problem. CHS won 2 of 3 matches at this year's U16s schools round robin weekend and had 1 player selected into NSW Schools compared to 9 selected from one of the teams they defeated, ISA, who won only 1 of 3. The sole CHS player selected had played for NSWJRU u15s the...
