NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Great to see the Sidesteppa franchise bringing it the masses yet again. You should seek out some crowd surfing sponsorship from the G&GR faithful SS - at least enough to cover petrol money and bacon & egg rolls!

what is it about travelling over the dividing range? Congrats to KWS on some very good wins against tough opposition in Augs 1sts and particularly 16As. There must be some great spirit amongst the Orange boys.

Sobering reading QH. You may have convinced me.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

I agree with the sentiment QH, but the boys involved very much believe they are playing in a competition and can tell you where each team in their age group sits, including for and against required to split teams on even points. Arguably if they are going to construct a table anyway, it...

Not sure you can afford 2 players in a NSW starting backline who are described thus - "neither have great hands". Whilst each may be a strong runner, if the ball dies with them each time they are tackled, the rest of the backline is nullified.

AS, I think the ball is more likely to get to the fringes if you have a centre combination with good hands and who know how to find space. Lehmann and Wellington are more crash ball types. On the basis selectors selected 3 OCs and 1 Winger, I suspect either Cameron or Lehmann will end up on...

^^^But when they are shut down defensively as happened at trials v CAS, there is not much else to fall back on. The kiwis will have no trouble doing this as big hard runners are a dime a dozen in Auckland rugby. I'd prefer all of my NSW backs to have ball skills so that momentum doesn't...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

What is required to win once in the team is the ability to play as part of a team. Too many league players think the key to success is tucking the ball under the arm and running hard and one out at the opposition, cause what the hell you get 5 goes at doing this every set of 6 right? This...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Didn't ISA have most of the HM players? The team that lost 2 out of 3 matches at trials but still got 9 players selected? It does seem that there is a correlation - an inverse one. Pres A which was undefeated had the fewest HM players; CAS had a couple more and came second; ISA had the most...

NSW JRU President is a woman and has been for some time. You can decide whether junior rugby is in a better state than it was several years ago.

Given this is u16s and first year of school reps, what trends are there IS? If it's 2015 NSWRU u15s (club rugby) then I think there are only 8 or so from 2015 that have been selected in Schools u16s. Not saying I agree with all of the selections (omissions) but I don't think there is much...

Humble apologies RM2 - I was experiencing a rare delusional episode of imagined male competence and momentarily forgot the joys visited upon both players and dads by the bearers of pumpkin scones and the wearers of knee high leather. Consider me appropriately chastened.
