No issue there W88. I was simply responding to the the 2 posts above which referred to Kn and W. Personally I think it's a shame Barker are not getting the opportunity to play the best GPS teams as early indications are they would be competitive. Plus there's no better test of where you are...

B&W, Rich E, I hope that neither Knox nor Waves will take your words of support too literally and avoid being lulled into a false sense of security, as the challenges each face tomorrow are huge. That said, it is decent of you to publicly move away from some of the more extreme posturing that...

Thanks B&W but I'm sure you have better things to do with your time. I'll grab a program before kick off. Cheers

Tricky keeping track of all these trials. The remaining matches for Knox: 13/5 - v New @ Knox 20/5 - v Scots @ Scots 27/5 - v Joeys @ HH As far as I know they are matching up team for team (1sts v 1sts, A v A etc) where each school has a team of the same grade. Waves: 13/5 - 1sts v...

B&W, do you have the New 1sts team for Sat?

Cyclo, it's great that the offending post got zapped but it lives on in the various replies. For the sake of the player and his family it would be good if it could be removed altogether.

Does this mean Waves 2nds play Joeys 3rds (and so on)? That probably makes sense given Joeys depth and hence presumably greater strength in teams below 1sts.

    Tahman, it's definitely @ Knox

I haven't seen Joeys play this season, but having more star players than the opposition is not a pre-requisite to them winning. You can always count on Joeys being well drilled, good at the set piece, disciplined, having good line speed and being all over the breakdown. Waverley will need to...

It will be the ultimate test for the double V next week. Can the wild leaguie mongrel talent of the Death Valley boys get over the highly drilled rugby purists from HH? If I had to call it I'd say Joeys by 5, but would not be stunned to see a Waves win.

Would that be the winning group QH? You may recall saying after last year's trial where Joeys d Knox: "Based on yesterday's results, the gulf between GPS and CAS is wider than ever" There's no 'it was only a trial' qualifier in that:-)

Promotion and Relegation must be difficult to implement when you have wholesale changes to team composition year by year as students leave school. Do you promote say Waverley the next year on the basis of a strong opens performance in year X, when maybe the 16As from year X are not as strong?

It will be a very physical test for Knox against what appears to be a large and strong New team. Hopefully the game will be as competitive and entertaining as those against View and Kings.

Interesting outcome Rod. Who then do Scots 1sts play? And who do the 2nds team from that opponent school play? The way Barker seem to be travelling it's a shame they are not playing Scots 1sts. Not saying they would win necessarily, but it would give them a real gauge of where that are at.

I've been at both the Knox matches and have zero doubt from what I witnessed and in talking to the boys and parents at the after functions that both teams and coaches gave it everything they had eg, Kings took 2 penalty goals yesterday rather than use as an opportunity to test their lineout...

    CAS Rugby 2017

Absolutely. First half was all Kings who deservedly would have had 85% of possession and barely left the Knox 22. They were very well disciplined, had great speed off the line and were fierce at the breakdown, winning multiple turnovers and securing their own multi-phase possession. Despite...
