Reg had this one sorted earlier on: Nobody has come close to being a reliable lineout operator since 2015 Stephen Moore, and even he couldn't keep it up season to season. None of the Super level hookers are getting any better or any more consistent. We're rapidly aproaching a situation where...

    Brumbies 2019

Does Luke Holmes want a second Brumbies cap? In reality, what are our options for signing a third hooker? The Gungahlin hooker has had a great start to the season by all accounts, but each team is only two games in.

Weird to say FP, I think the exact opposite. The force of character that drives a player to make a personal mark on a game isn't something I'd consider coachable, but the desire to get up and go again, and again, and again is something that I would consider coachable. Look at the difference...

Look, you're reading my predictions all wrong! Queanbeyan scored 20 (23 if you're a pedant, jeez), and Vikings got their four scores in the last ten minutes. And look at Gungahlin's score: 74. 7+4 = 11. 1+1 = 2. Easts by 2. It's like poetry, it rhymes.

Glad I went to Norths game, though the Wests game looks like a classic. Was going to go to the Gungahlin game, but decided it was way too far away; the tyranny of distance saves me from shithouse rugby once more!

John I. Dent Cup 2019 - ACT Premier Rugby

Norths have lost a lot of good players from last year. Every chance they replaced them, but chances are they didn't. Queanbeyan by 20. Clash of the round here; Gungahlin must be proud after last week, but Easts will want to show that last year's good performances are now the norm. Easts by 2...

To be fair, he hasn't driven a guy head first into the ground this year. Longest period without suspension in his Brumbies career.

John I. Dent Cup 2019 - ACT Premier Rugby

First game of the season, it will take a month to see who's good and who's not. However, very happy with the win over Clangers. Surprising given we had our three superstar backs, but none of them at fullback (where we generally need at least one of them in order to play our game). Seems we're...

Yeah, we saw that with Folau on the wing in the Gold Coast game last year, and the SA-Arg tour afterwards. The Wales game in particular was a really bad example of his poor decision making in the line, whereas he has developed a good sense of positioning at fullback.

Yeah, appologies on the lack of clarity; if Hunt is in the conversation, why are we supposedly happier to shift Beale around than we are to put Hunt in the gap? I wouldn't even have him in the team at the moment.

Backing up Derpus; 90% of being a good 13 is defensive positioning and decision making. The mental side of this part of the game is so key. Not to say that someone who can't play the position well is "stupid" or "lacks rugby smarts", but it's like how some guys are playmakers and some aren't...

The first game that I think they really shone in together was the 2016 Rugby Championship game *edit - against Argentina* (remember Houston's one cameo?). They also played really well together in the 32-8 win over Wales in 2016. Derpus is right that they both started in the Dunedin test, and...

My main arguments for Arnold in the test team have been that he is a strong lineout operator, mobile around the park, brilliant at disrupting mauls, and, crucially, forms a good partnership with Coleman. Rodda has him beat for sheer work in making tackles, and is probably a better scrummaging...

Foley without a second playmaker is like a scrum without locks; you may end up there in an emergency, but god help you if it's actually your plan. If you want a Kerevi-Kuridrani centre pairing, you need Quade at 10 or Hunt/Beale at fullback.
