I get your point that we have six games to turn it around, but I'm not that big a fan of the "we just need to click into gear" argument for a team that has had similar selection and direction over the last twenty-six games. This is especially true when the problem is the difference between...

I'm getting 2014 vibes all over again. We'd be on 29 points and third overall if we hadn't screwed up our close games. Not happy to see the same problems we had under Larkham begining to rear their head again.

Box kicking (and kicking in general) is a strength of his, but not his only skill. His speed to the breakdown is incredible, and his decision making in where to send the ball and when to send it is so powerful when you decide to play with high speed and the running game.

Be good enough and be in Australia and you'll be considered. Simple rules. Despite Nic White being one of my favourite players, I wouldn't pick him if he wasn't in Australia. Same for Fardy, same for Holmes, Tomane, McMahon, O'Connor, Pyle, Gill, Skelton, etc., and the same for anyone and...

The best comparison I've seen is Morgan Parra, and he truly embodies that le petit general spirit. Absolutely love his shithousary around the field too.

He was good enough from 2014 onwards. Most of his memorable "errors" have been more of an inability to polish a turd; for example, the kick away in 2014 is more on the team's ability to secure the ball and dictate terms while in the lead in the closing minutes than it is on one kick. However...

I will be amazed if Queanbeyan don't turn the corner. If they don't, they'll be the worst Whites team in a decade. Queanbeyan by 8. Norths have retained some of their form from last year. Vikings are yet to win but still fourth. I'm hoping for a close game but, come on, it's Vikings. Tuggeranong...

Being pretty generous there, Reg. Lacklustre to mediocre. Do enough so the coaches don't feel inclined to focus on it but not enough that you're actually good at it.

On White returning, anyone who knows me well will know that I am thrilled. Legitimately excited. He's a multi-talented, all-round scrumhalf. His only "weakness" is that his running game is average-to-good. My only concern is that it could get in the way of Lonergan, but, even then, I'll take the...

Love it, Green Grass. No shame in being a second grade player! Especially when Vikings have players in second grade that would start in other teams' first grade side, haha.

If this is the making of Hodge having a nailed down position, I'll be happy with it. I worry about his defensive ability (note: I think highly of his tackling, but there's more to defending, particularly at fullback), but the only way to improve is to play there. He has a lot of ability and most...

Like with Ready, my fear with Charles would simply be that we'd overpay for what would effectively be an insurance option. I'd much prefer to use the situation as an opportunity to promote from within, and get a better understanding of where our local players are in relation to Super level...

Ready was far and away the best hooker in Aus in 2016, but something put an end to his rise. Couldn't replicate it year-on-year? Regressed to the mean? Poor attitude? Whatever it was, I think he'd be a fine third choice hooker for the rest of the season, but the pay he'd command would be too...

So seems that the most likely candidates, in order of likelihood, are: TP Lutetu Lachlan Lonergan Michael Henry

I don't know what Lachlan's situation is. Is he with the u20s squad? He isn't listed as a Brumbies player this season.

My fear is the not-that-unlikely situation where we lose a player to a training injury at the captain's run or in the warm up, and just need the corporate work ticked off so that the coach can simply call the next guy up and sit him on the bench to avoid a worst-case. This is what the Extended...
