TRC Round 2 : All Blacks vs Springbokke @ Cake Tin

Bit of a concern if Mo'unga and Barrett get injured as I don't think anyone on the bench can cover 10 unless Bridge can. Some experimental selections up against a pretty powerful looking Bok side, should be exciting to see how they go.

Wests had some very good moments this season BD, you should be pleased. Looking good for the future.

TRC Round 1: South Africa v Australia, Sunday 21 July 1:05am AEST

Sorry, misread this - replay at 1pm, on Fox doesn't appear to be a morning replay. I'm recording it.

I would think that Jake Strachan from Souths would be in the mix at 10, and Phoenix Hunt at 9 for Easts has looked good. Eli Pilz seems to mainly play 10 when Hunt is available, then go into 9 when he is not. Is Mataitini (who you have in the Country side) the Norths winger who is quite lean...

Quade is taller than that. He is not short.

He was a real handful yesterday for Easts - very hard to stop, great to see, and fantastic to see Ben Mowen out there in the 2nd half, looked in fantastic shape and lots of enthusiasm.

That is correct but a coach who inherits a squad should also make the most of the resources he inherits- look at how different players can be utilised. Thorn could have tapped into QC (Quade Cooper)'s knowledge for the benefit of younger players like Stewart and given him a development role instead of exiling...

    Brumbies 2020

Yes don't think he is looking for a contract, just a chance to turn out for his local club again - he played there as an amateur as did his father. Great to see that he is keen to do it - very few Reds players turning out yet in the Premier comp in Brisbane.

Yes I think that's it, pretty interesting the things going on behind the scenes at the time.

Ben Mowen is back in Brisbane - flew in from France on Friday, coming off the bench for his old club Easts this afternoon.

As I recall the Wallabies negotiations were lead by Phil Kearns and the ABs by Sean Fitzpatrick (captains at the time) but when they went to hook up on a videoconference with SA the Boks didn't show because Louis Luyt, the powerbroker in SA rugby then, had got involved. Without the Boks (and a...

Did he 'opt to play in Melbourne' though Reg? Or was he, like others, not wanted? I have no issue with GPS not getting him for the finals and wonder why he is playing in Brisbane rather than Melbourne, or why not Shute Shield if that is the top comp and he needs the competition, but given that...

    Reds 2020

Nic White has only signed with RA - after the RWC he will go back to Exeter for the 2020 Premiership season, and only then will he finish with English rugby. Given that next year's Premiership final will be on the 20th of June, which is after the usual end of the Super Rugby normal rounds, he...

Bond have been in form of late so I agree that they look good to win. UQ - if all their predicted rep players do return then that makes them difficult, although Brothers are probably getting a few U20s back as well aren't they? If Sunnybank were to beat GPS that would be an upset, but given who...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

If JOC (James O'Connor) still hasn't signed a contract then this whole story about his changed attitude and desire to play for Australia again is starting to look shaky. If the rumours are true, the QRU are wanting special behaviour clauses in his contract - shouldn't be an issue if he is reformed now. If he...

Thanks for doing this Jets, you're doing a great job. I'm surprised that Bond smashed Souths like that - ruined my tipping! The competition is getting interesting - GPS look a bit vulnerable and other teams are circling but Brothers will be very difficult to beat based on season form.

    Reds 2020

And then once they announce the squad a little while later they can announce that some of the players aren't welcome.... I notice on the Reds website this week that the 'squad' has disappeared and the 2020 squad is to be announced soon. I wonder who the new names will be? Speight we know...
