If we can't get people to align with something as simple as Brisbane City, and not-Brisbane City (ie Queensland Country), does a new comp that doesn't just contain the Queensland Reds have any hope at all?

    Queensland Reds 2025

It works out to be less than half a season as the comp has a bye weeks etc. I think you could play 6 games before Super Rugby re-started

    Queensland Reds 2025

Unfortunately, now Japan Top League is aligned with Super Rugby, there is much less opportunity and value for these kind of deals at least outside of World Cup years

Doran at the Roar had a list up on Friday

What does Out of control mean?

    Queensland Reds 2025

This is Wright's issue though. The highest paid Red's player will be getting vastly under paid to what Japan and Europe offer. And I don't think they can afford to offer overs, because the already have Uru, McReight and Wilson signed up and on the books. Unless he can earn himself a Wallaby...

    Queensland Reds 2025

We are all guessing here, but I'm guessing he was told there was a position at the Tahs if he wanted one, and none of the other Super Rugby teams were interested in making the offer, including Queensland. Both Lynagh and MHP have contracts already for 2025

Brumbies will still be flammable until mid-week

Blues v Brumbies SF Fri June 14 2024

It's not the be all and end all, but surely it must count somewhat Since the start of Round 10 at the end of April, the Brumbies have won more Super Rugby games than the other 4 teams combined.

We would be paying our players a lot less and lots more would head OS, to league, or NFL

Anyone want to have a crack at deciphering Bernie's notes?

There's something particularly depressing about a Mexican wave in a half empty stadium in an uncompetitive semi-final

Stan need to turn up the crowd mikes. Sounds like a funeral over there

Wright would be first replacement in there I suspect

The challenge being maintaining a window for Currie Cup and NPC for the SANZAAR partners.... Ironically enough it looks like both of those might be in trouble

    Aussie Player Exodus

I don't think it is that much of an issue, given it's on every year. The Superbowl (easily!) out rated last year's Australian Bledisloe match if that helps to define it better

    Wallabies 2024

The Reds said he was out for 8 weeks after his surgery on 12 May. That takes him to the weekend of the first test.

Yep. We worked out a way to afford to have 100ish pros in 1996. We tried to get 160 pros for a while there, but it seems pretty clear we can't afford that many. Any proposal for a domestic comp needs to present it's maths. # of teams x squad size x average salary x 2 for coaches/travel etc...

    Wallabies 2024

I suspect there are a good 15-20 players in that initial list who won't have any further role in Schmidt's plan in about 2 weeks time
