Round 2: Reds v Canes. Sunday.

Win to the Maroons by default then?

Round 2: Reds v Canes. Sunday.

When he first broke in he did so as a winger and was excellent. Certainly seemed to struggle there last year but hopefully that was mainly injury related.

Christy Doran reporting Rodda will miss the firs half of super rugby. What a horrid run.

How many of those guys are front rowers. And when you say ‘pretty close’ does that mean this week?

    Queensland Reds 2024

Uru was a bit lose in the first trial but in the other two games this year he’s looked every bit a proper lock. The fact he has the mobility to be a 6 shouldn’t be a reason not to pick him at 4.

Round 2: Reds v Canes. Sunday.

I get what you are saying - but the Canes can only play who was on the field and they thumped the Force. Reds did a pretty good job on the Tahs too I guess. But the Canes are/should be favourites. The big unknowns here are - - how much difference will Kiss make - if he does make a big...

    Brumbies 2024

It’s not a new rule - was in place last year (and prior to that I thought). To get rewarded the dominant scrum must be going forward, not twisting. It’s not perfect, but it takes away the incentive to try to wheel the scrum.

Round 2: Reds v Canes. Sunday.

Happy for a different game plan but I think some things are not negotiable. My recollection of a different game plan was mainly around the amount we kicked/level of ball retention. Our lineout was a strength, our breakdown strategy was a real strength and our scrum was solid enough. Considering...

    Queensland Reds 2024

I know the coaching has changed - but it doesn’t seem to have harmed the chances of guys look Holloway and Hooper to play lock regularly at super level.

I really like that we seem to be making the basic a real focus. Set peice, defence, work off the ball, sensible kicking. Breakdown remains a weakness though.

Round 2: Reds v Canes. Sunday.

Big test for the Reds. I know we should expect them to build over the season but this presents a real opportunity to gauge where they are really at. Expect to see the same Reds team. Possibly Toomaga-Allen on the bench. Would like to see Campbell in 15 and Petaia on the wing, but figure if Kiss...

That makes it bloody tough. Especially when you also have injuries at lock

    Brumbies 2024

Not a big fan of ditching players after 1 week (even just back to the bench). Keep faith with him. You know he can scrummage and he normally contributes around the field. Rebels struggled but they did put an experienced scrum on the park that should be able to give most teams grief. Gibbon is a...

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

KOB for the record I agree I’d like less TMO involvement (although I think try/no try decisions are the obvious ones to get them involved in). I don’t lack sympathy for that part of your stance. I just took a bit of exception to you having a crack at the refs when, IMO they got this 100% right...

Nonggorr is a straight up guy and very honest and was just doing his best - but that Bully boy Bell is just a cheat. :)

Look at Bells arms/shoulders. He never had any intent other than to collapse the scrum. Edit- actually I should clarify I only noticed that once. Didn’t pay enough attention to the others. But there was definitely one where Bell pulled Nonggorr straight forward and down.

McReight - by a long way. But in my personal opinion McReight has always been far the better player. Gamble is a decent player and has his followers - good luck to him. But McReight is a class above IMO.

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

I am intrigued with all the talk of refereeing decisions - am I the only one who thinks we dodged a bullet with Paisami’s head clash with Perese. I thought it was relatively clear, and most likely a red, but I haven’t seen anyone else mention it. Everyone else thought it was okay, I assume?

Pretty decent effort to half fill Ballymore though, given the game was at Suncorp
