    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I didn’t think so. But I can see how it could be taken that way and maybe I’m wrong. I know that RA is strapped but if that was the case and give the success of the program I would’ve thought it would be logical for RA to pay the $60k. Or if there is some legal reason not to do that right now...

I think the most interesting line in that is where he implies that a person or persons within RA were both aware and sanctioned the spending that led to the current financial position. Or am I reading that wrong?

    Queensland Reds 2024

Agree. I’m happy with Nonggorr and personally I am not convinced he had as much trouble in the scrums at the World Cup as it was made out. Or at least I feel like others contributed more to that. That theory will get tested soon enough and he definitely faces a big challenge this weekend (if he...

I tend to agree but I won’t be surprised if he does against Bell. I expect a lot of props to have issues with Bell. His scrummaging looks like it has really come on.

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

I like the progress Creighton has made over the last two years and I don’t want to judge him too harshly from the first trial where most guys were sub par. But I feel Lynagh is already moving past him and McLaughlin-Phillips form has been very good. Creighton looks a handy depth player to me though.

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

Happy to have a crack at the Reds team. I imagine it’ll be pretty predictable. Ravai Faessler Nonggorr Smith Uru Wright McReight Wilson McDermott Lynagh (won’t be surprised if McLaughlin-Phillips gets the gig) Vunivalu Paisami Flook Petaia Campbell I’ve ended up going with Vunivalu on the wing...

Genuine question as I don’t watch Shute Shield but which guys are you referring to?

    Wallabies 2024

Sorry - yeah, I forgot. When they won it was the players, when they lost it was Deans, right?

    Wallabies 2024

I’d assume Ilitau will be in there and if Alex Mafi can stay fit I reckon he’ll also get a gig and possibly jump the queue straight into the starting team (although I though Faessler looked very sharp last week). can understand/support the selection of Rodda but given he’s had two years of...

    Wallabies 2024

I’m reminded of the cricket saying ‘show me a successful cricket captain and I’ll show you a guy who has two great strike bowlers’. I was certainly making the point that no one since Eddie Jones’ first stint has had the quality of player to work with but I’ll probably steer clear of any...

    Uncontested?

    Wallabies 2024

I’d suggest a real takeaway from that is that the further Australian rugby got away from the inception of professionalism and the golden area of Eales/Horan/Herbert/Kefu/Tune/Gregan/Larkham/Burke etc etc (add your own favourites) the more the success rate dropped off.

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

I thought Thompson-Stringer could play both sides, but I might be wrong. I think this really highlights the issue with Australian rugby. A really strong starting XV with 9 Wallabies starting and then guys like Gamble, Pietsch & Jorgensen. But Wilson & Bowen shouldn’t have to try and guide a...

    Waratahs 2024

On Australian rugby standards only having a quarter of your assets unable to perform is fantastic

So the context here is that he managed to maintain a higher level of success over a longer period?

    Wallabies 2024

I think a lot will depend on his view of McDermott. If he sees him as a first pick half the. I then I think he’s also an easy pick for captain. But that may not be the case.

    Waratahs 2024

Definitely rest them all until round 2 to be safe. Angus Bell looked a bit ginger too I thought.

Isn’t Foketi now also on that list?

I guess if you don’t want to play Tateyfor80 than bringing his clone on at the 60 minute mark isn’t a bad second option

    Try of the Year 2023

I’m confused Braveheart. Why did you post a couple of videos that weren’t as good as the original that Sully posted??? Is there some award for next best?
