    Rugby World Cup 2023

I’m the same. Was more pointing out because many of here think Aus have the better team and that we should beat Wales. The bookies obviously don’t agree and they are rarely wrong.

    Rugby World Cup 2023

Interesting that the bookies have Wales as favorites tonight. Also think Italy odds against NZ are rather juicy. I don’t think they are going to win but surely a better than 1/30 chance of beating them these days

    Rugby World Cup 2023

As much as people bemoaned the unfairness of the old midweek game system. I think we will see a return to midweek games for the next cup, every team disappears once for 2 weeks currently. Surely not good for broadcasters. Constant engagement and momentum crucial for maintaining interest.

I’d take their hooker (not very good either) over our extremely underwhelming choices. Their TH is a premiership, 6N and Heineken Cup winner, against a LH doing an admirable job at TH. Adam Beard is a better player than both Arnold and Frost. Rowlands is a solid Lock as well. Honestly only Bell...

Love slipper but he’s not a TH. Biggar and Davies better players than Donaldson and Tate, Liam Williams is a world class fullback. Our locks are athletically gifted but are a little of the cuddly pillow side of contact. Both teams hooker stocks are ordinary but think theirs shades ours. Our...

Looking at the Welsh team, but sorry to say they should comfortably win this. Man for man, they have better players in majority of positions.

I think it’s just Eddie taking attention and pressure off the players. There is too much ego on his side to not want to take on the Lions and coach a home world cup

RSA not getting near a 6N spot. Have they regressed or just momentarily outperformed? If you graphed their performances over 20-15-10 years period, the chart would be pointing in an upwards trajectory. Just my opinion but outside the 10 “tier1” sides, I still believe they are most likely to...

I think Schoupp is a more reliable option to hold the scrum up on his end if needed.

    RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Fiji - Monday 18 Sep 2am AEST

One thing having someone like Pone in the team will help with is winning the collision. For all the talk about securing rucks and lack of support, the single most important thing in winning rucks is the collision. It just gives the team that split second longer to arrive and it’s drastically...

After discussed the other day on here with some ludicrous commentary from people bemoaning Aus government support for Fiji. Article today on SMH has a number associated with the investment. Apparently Pacific Aus Sports sponsorship worth $1.8m. So it’s a decent amount, but well worth the...

I mentioned the other day private equity was unlikely. So happy to be proven right on that. One thing I do think that’s been mentioned in that article that will be incorrect is the tv revenue. I believe we are in for a solid rise in value. I think we will see a 50 to 100% increase, which at the...

It’s one of those things. Australia has traditionally held closer ties to Fiji than NZ, there is more Fijians in Aus than anywhere else in the world. There is around 100,000 people either born or parents born in Fiji living here. NZ has always held closer ties with Samoa and Tonga, having...

    Wallabies 2023

Yep. These arguments are tiresome within rugby. The fact is the teams without many foreign born players are generally from countries where nobody wants to live or are actively looking to move from. South Africans are some of the best people I have met, apparently the country is beautiful in...

    RWC Pool C - Australia v Wales - 5AM 25 Sep AEST

Fiji clearly the better team all game, I do think Australia were slightly on the receiving end of some refereeing backlash towards Fiji from their previous game against Wales, where they were completely dudded.

Sounds like Pone will come back in to the team, which is a big in for the physicality of the team. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him start with Slipper on the bench. Nonggorr is very young and hopefully will get better but at the moment seems a mile away from the required standard.

I would of thought JOC (James O'Connor) was an obvious option given the 10 shortage, plus can also cover 15 if injuries happen. Has also been playing baabaas

Again this is not always the case. This isn’t a share price type sale. Some sales around capital is about leveraging ongoing percentage of revenue. If you fail to capitalize properly upfront you potentially tank ongoing capital. It can be argued it’s in the interests of whoever is interested to...
