In my eyes there isn’t actually a huge issue with the younger pathways. We have recently been in a junior World Cup final, one that we were a play away from winning. We also just beat the junior ABs, and were some very unhelpful reffing against Ireland away from making the final 4 again. That...

Love that the PI are getting more assistance through either funding or reform, I do also believe countries like our PI neighbors do very little to move the popularity of the game along if they are performing well. It won’t have any impact on the game’s popularity in the americas, Asia, Africa or...

News flash. Hamstring and calf injuries aren’t contact injuries.

If they miraculously pulled a RWC win off then the players would have earned every cent of the bonus. The money it would bring in and swell of public support would considerably outweigh the cost of bonus payments. Plus it’s like 99% of high end jobs, there is performance bonuses.

Haven’t watched it yet but noticed Paramount has a docu series on Toulouse called Le Stade. It’s 4 episodes

Not having mid week games is a failure of this World Cup. It might not be a perfect system in terms of fairness but it’s the perfect system for engagement, which is what should be no.1 priority for all world cups. If teams aren’t strong enough to have depth in the squad then bad luck. Good...

The issue with 8 groups of 3 is that it will be almost a month before the second phase starts. Having 3 teams means that only 1 fixture can be completed per week from that pool. It just won’t work out. Having this format would push the tournament out to 2 and a half months in length. Think most...

Minus Romania not been of standard, it looks like the remaining teams are past the 100pt drubbings of yesteryear. - Spain (better than Romania and improving year on year) - USA - Canada It would just be that 4th spot that would be dodgy. Probably be looking for a guaranteed second Asian side...

Few people that could do a solid job. Leota played a few games of Super Rugby at 7 back in the Wessels years. Hooper been deployed there, etc.

    Rugby World Cup 2023

On saying this, there has been spare seats in several games so far. The game as a whole is doing better than it is here, but there is definitely a malaise throughout the world and I’d say less support than was on offer in 2019.

Ballymoore Cup is predominately made up of Private schools. It’s also played over a handful of days. Brilliant idea and love that these comps exist but I probably didn’t explain myself well as was more meaning week in week out tournament where teams train for the week to face a different opponent.

Success does this though, it’s one of the issues with Ben Darwin’s cohesion argument. It’s near on impossible to convince players of talent to stick around and stick it out in a losing environment, therefore cohesion is consistently disrupted. It’s a compounding effect.

It’s very possible that Victoria is going to have the largest public school competition in Australia. Which would be remarkable only a few years ago

Very difficult under a federated model to create new seats on the board outside the current structure. But yes there could be negotiating areas before the money is transferred and I suspect the current proposed restructuring of contracts etc. could be part of that

So many don’t understand what would be purchased. It’s a share of profit, not the business. As we have seen with cvc there is very little to no say in how the game is run. It would still be the same board, the same principle agreements and the same faces running RA.
