    Western Force 2024

The travel demands are such a silly argument. It just means for half their games they are at a clear disadvantage and for half their games they are at a clear advantage, it’s all relative. They are also the team most likely to play under strength teams because sides choose to send squads there...

Here is a great article from 2022 outlining the pay levels https://amp.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/is-your-club-paying-too-much-for-players-confidential-nrl-document-sheds-light-on-salaries-20220426-p5ag76.html Only 1 position where the median salary is under $500k which is wingers. It’s big money...

One thing I think is often misunderstood in rugby is just how much the NRL guys are earning. They are already earning Japanese rugby, Top 14 level money. Plus you can earn stacks in 3rd party deals and there isn’t many NRL guys paying for their car etc. I get both sides of the argument. I think...

    Best Number of Subtitutes Pole

I don’t think it’s possible to remove tactical substitutions however see value in dropping the bench to 6. It would see a Rob Leota type player where they can play from lock to anywhere in the back row become invaluable, it would also have an effect on the size of locks or specialized no8s that...

He’s the forwards coach, so I’d say yes. He’s very grounded in Melbourne. Purchased a house a number of years ago, kids at school, etc.

    Doping in Rugby

We have seen here with the Sharks and Essendon, plus countless Olympic level athletes that our drug testing body isn’t afraid to burn reputations.

    Wallabies 2023

Who knows what the real story is, even a version from the player or an RA official could easily be slanted to make them look favorably on this. However my personal opinion is if he did decide to stay here and play club then that’s not looking favourably on the player. Considering there was guys...

    Doping in Rugby

I think most countries are very clean at the pro level, it’s the school boy level where it’s most pronounced. It is possible to get massive gains and retain them throughout a career. I’d dare say there is more elite RSA school boy on the gear than the other tier 1 sides elite school boys...

    Doping in Rugby

Shock horror that a South African and a Welsh chav have been caught on the gear. On nations most likely to be caught RSA would be paying around $1.20 and Wales prob $1.90

The moment we start suggesting places that aren’t the traditional homes of these clubs or areas like the Sunshine Coast, aren’t we just bastardizing the competition already which is what a lot of the complaints are from the pro club voices? Also Brothers vs Randwick on the Sunshine Coast would...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Well they can’t all play out of Suncorp, the SFS and the stadium in W Syd. There is already a boat load of tenants at these places and the minimum attendance to break even is more than these clubs would attract. Brothers, GPS etc aren’t attracting more fans than the Reds. You’d be swimming in...

Is the support really there at the community level? We had a QPrem semi last week with only a few hundred people in attendance. That’s a pretty big game to only attract such a crowd. Bare in mind it’s going to cost 10s of millions to properly upgrade grounds to appropriate stadiums, maintain...

The state entities aren’t going to give up power for a consolidated model with any potential of their Super Rugby sides been abolished. Chances are most of them will want long term or perpetual licenses grants in giving up areas of governance. The 5 teams if people like it or not is what will remain...

    Aussie Player Exodus

From what I have heard the money difference is astronomical. More than 2x what he can earn in Aus. Definitely not a move to play for Japan more a decision based on financial security because of horrendous injury record the previous 18months and the amount is just too big to ignore. Suntory also...

A lot of these schools promoting sporting programs to improve attendance etc. it’s such a good idea. Better having the kids coming to school and attending their maths, English, science classes and been half attentive knowing they have rugby as a subject during the day, than not turning up at all.

Jimmy Orange again absolutely killing it for youth participation and development of meaningful programs. It would be hard pressed to find someone in the country currently doing more than he is.
