    Waratahs 2019

The issue for mine was with process more than outcome. If they announced they were knocking down and rebuilding Allianz for a cost of $700m then I don't think they would have received much backlash. But they announced Parramatta AND Allianz AND ANZ for a cost of $2.7b (in the first...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I've always been a bit of an Arnold skeptic if I'm honest. To me there's a touch of the Henry Speight's about him - good at Super level but never quite able to replicate that form in gold. And he's just a bit of a goober, and has a tendency to spill the ball more often than most. I acknowledge...

Your loss BR - he gives some really interesting insight into Darryl Gibson and Mike Cron, and we also get to chat Simmons, Holloway, Dempsey and of course Mitch Short, the Tahs 3rd string 9. A bit disappointed we didn't get to the development of Cam Clark, actually. .

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

It was a great chat. A rough breakdown of what we discussed - we talked about Foley's form at 10, the aerial skills of Folau, the resurgance of Ned Hanigan, Nick Phipps defensive tenacity, a few interesting observations about Harry Johnson-Holmes and Chris Talakai, and then a long debate on...

Same thing. Start QC (Quade Cooper), Foley, Lilo, whoever (and at the moment I agree Quade is ahead), you still need the second playmaker/kicking option. I like Kerevi's ball-handling and kicking for the Reds, I just don't think he's quite got those skills at an international level. Yet. I think Hornet had...

Nah mate, all he did was ping lazy bombs to Izzy. I could have done that.

If you do that, I think you'd need Beale on a wing or at FB. I think we're just better with a second option to take the heat off Foley. .

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Three observations from the Reds/Brumbies: James Slipper is looking better every week. Get him to Tokyo. Folau Fainga'a is increasing his margin over the other hookers. Samu Kerevi is in beast mode, and it will be tough to keep him out of the starting XV. .

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Interestingly quiet on this thread after the weekend. I thought Foley, Beale, Hooper and Kepu were all outstanding in the Waratahs game. But I suppose some would just see that as a 'dead cat bounce' performance which should count for nothing when the Wallabies are picked. After all, it was...

    Round 5: Lions v Rebels - Sun12:05am @Emirates Park

That's 100% how you do it. Such a classy play by Wessells. You hold your tongue in the aftermath, you secretly follow the prescribed complaints process, and THEN you publically reveal you complained and they said you did nothing wrong. The implication is the ref fucked it up, but it's not you...

    Reds 2019

Has anyone explained the moment in the Sunwolves game where he decided to take a penalty kick for touch, and then shanked it and gave the ball back to them? One of the stranger moments I've seen. .

And now the SMH have admitted they got it wrong yesterday.

I like Valetini as a prospect, but haven't seen enough from him yet. He's been OK but not outstanding. I'm not ready to put him in a World Cup 23, though that could change if his form picks up over the season. To me he's behind Dempsey, Jones, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and maybe Hanigan. .

I don't think that's correct, though it's true he gave away a few sloppy penalties. .

What do you reckon are the chances of him playing lock? Him and Coleman would be a pretty physical pairing, and as Reg's stats have shown both are adept in the lineout. .

LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is one of those players who produces his best rugby at test level, though. And remember he polled second in the John Eales Medal, so is obviously very well respected amongst the playing group. .

    Reds 2019

Sidenote - I've always wondered how much time the All Blacks devote to haka practice. Is it one big session at the start of the season, or is it a weekly practice? The idea of them all in leggings in a studio surrounded by mirrors, 'Come on Ardie, it's step, step, PIVOT, step'........ .

Start LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), but bring Hooper on at half time or just after. I've heard worse ideas on here. .

    Round 5: Lions v Rebels - Sun12:05am @Emirates Park

I watched the game knowing the score and the penalty count. I expected to be screaming at the TV as the ref ignored countless Lions infringements, and then pinged the Rebels every chance he could. But that wasn't what happened. I thought he was fine. In fact, the main criticism I'd make is he...
