    Wallabies 2019 Thread

A backrow of LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Pocock and Naisirani would be bloody physical. Covers lineout too. Not that mobile though. I like McCaffrey, but Reg said it well earlier. There's a chance he's Scott Fardy 2.0, but he also could be Richard Brown 2.0 - nice at Super level but just lacking that physical edge...

    Round 5 - Brumbies vs Waratahs - Friday 15 March @ 7:45pm in Canberra

Apparently Sio is fine, doesn't look great for Valetini though. .

    Round 5 - Brumbies vs Waratahs - Friday 15 March @ 7:45pm in Canberra

The amount of misdirected passes and drop balls was shameful from two teams of professional rugby players. Add to that missed kicks and skewed lineout throws (all from the Tahs) and it was a pretty ugly game IMO. Well done to the Brumbies though, played to their strengths really well. .

    Your favourite Wallaby XV

Another favourite of mine - should have played many more tests than he did. .

    Your favourite Wallaby XV

I'll agree his final stance was brave, I respected that. But he should never have been in a position where that had to happen. But we digress.......

    Your favourite Wallaby XV

Dan Palmer, now there's a name I've forgotten. The great white hope of Australian scrummaging. We never got to see the best of him, a bit like Ben Darwin.

    Your favourite Wallaby XV

Another Friday, another thread. This one is far more subjective. Name a XV of your favourite Wallabies. Don't have to be the best players, just the ones you liked the most. I'll go first. 1. Benn Robinson 2. Jeremy Paul 3. Al Baxter 4. Nathan Sharpe 5. John Eales 6. Scott Fardy 7. George...

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

That is just a shameful number. You could play the St Ives under 12s against Leinster and get at least 3k in Sydney I would have thought. .

I'm not massively sold on either, to be honest. Tom Banks could be great, but he also could be Jesse Mogg 2.0 - good at Super level but just a bit too light for test footy. Maddocks may have a bit more potential, but like Banks he might be 10kg too light as well. .

    Wallaby team of the decade

Yeah I thought about Nic White too in that Sydney Bledisloe. Also Beale against England in the World Cup 2015. Tolu Latu against Ireland in Sydney. Drew Mitchell in the World Cup semi against Argentina.

    Wallaby team of the decade

This is a fun game, though. Gone back over the history of the G&GR player of the year and had a look. I'd throw some other options in the mix - a few curly ones here. 4. Will Skelton vs France in Sydney in 2014. 4. Sitaleki Timani vs New Zealand in Auckland in 2012 6. Rocky Elsom vs South...

Meh. That happens all the time. I think he is still going forward with momentum and is entitled to do what he did.

Looks like a clear-cut try to me. Am I missing something? .

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

I have really enjoyed it. It can play on Apple TV, so I can watch it on the bigger screen (as opposed to laptop/ipad viewing). It's also heaps more functional for sport viewing - can watch from kick-off with no spoilers at any time, a greater variety of on-demand games/docos, no ads or other...

You set the limits, box. Most of us have gone off season-long form.

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

I said this on Twitter, but I wonder if Kayo has anything to do with it. It's now cheaper and easier to watch the games than ever before - has to be a good thing for all ratings, not just Super Rugby.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Has Pocock ever been outstanding at Super Rugby level? Going purely off memory and nothing more, I can't recall him ever having a long, standout 'Player of the year candidate' season for either the Brumbies or Force. He's a big game player, and tends to play best when the stakes are highest...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I think besides the backrow the other area of interest for the Wallabies is the centres. We ended the season with Foley at 12 and Kerevi at 13, outside of To'omua at 10. We also played variations that included To'omua and Beale at 12, and Hodge and Folau at 13. Kuridrani would have had a run...

Round 4 - Festival of Hate - Qld v NSW

For real? To me it's totally innocuous. He clearly wraps his right arm around ASY (Angus Scott-Young)'s chest, and I can't see any contact to the head. I reckon I could find 10 worse cleanouts within the first five minutes of the game. .

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

To be clear, I wasn't advocating for it, just saying that I think Cheika will do it. The Kiwis nullified it, though I'd argue that it was still our best option at the time. We've lost plenty of games with the Pooper, but in the vast majority of cases they've been keeping us in the game, rather...
