    Drew Mitchell - not suspended

POB is on a hiding to nothing. If he does nothing - then its a conspiracy. If he does something, he's hanging his refs out to dry. FFS before POB had the job - did you EVER here ANY explanations or apologies for any contentious decisons? NO. He has bought some honesty and transparency to what...

    Drew Mitchell - not suspended

The instruction to start at Red and work down is clearly indicative of the IRBs intention to try and remove any from of dangerous play from the game. The responsibility is placed on the players. If they "accidentally" effect a tip tackle then they better make sure they dont, either drive the...

    Drew Mitchell - not suspended

From the SA Referees website - this link explains "Tip tackle" and what the sanctions are: http://www.sareferees.co.za/news/ref_news/2551420.htm

Scotty - not sure where you get 7 pens at the breakdown in the Redzone? Stats from SA Referees site: Tackle/ruck/maul: 5 (Owen Franks*, McCaw 2, Nonu, Mealamu) - not all in the redzone either. there were another 3 pens for offsides - (probably all in their own 22)

    All Blacks steal Deans' tactic

No that story is wrong. Wayne Smith was on the radio yesterday and he explained it. The Journo has interpreted the numbers as All Blacks on attack rather than considering the possibility that those numbers may have been Wallabies.

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

Here are the FACTS: Total number of penalties: 24 Australia: 11 New Zealand: 13 The reasons for the penalties were as follows: * = points conceded Australia: Tackle/ruck/maul: 7 (Moore* 2, Giteau, Elsom 2, Horne, Brown) Discipline: 4 (Mitchell - late, no arms; Elsom* -dissent...

    Drew Mitchell - not suspended

The Kaino incident was before the warning @ 32mins. The warning came about 35min mark - Mitchell 2nd YC incident was about 46 mins - eg after haltime - Should have been obvious to both teams at half time that Joubert was itching to pull a YC.

    Wallabies v All Blacks Melbourne

That was good Work Barbarian - only concern I have is: "The way we win in Wellington is by starting fast, and hopefully getting a bit of luck along the way" You'll need more than luck to win in Wellington - The game is in Christchurch ;-)

    Wallabies v All Blacks Melbourne

From memory at least 3 of those PKs were for off-side - generally we dont see YC's for that. Of the other 4 they were for not releasing the tackler & entering from the side. Maybe thats the key - make sure your PKs are for a variety of reasons and you dont get the warnings / Ycs

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

Definately No Dive, But I think the arms flying out were done for maximum effect. We see this sort of thing in every game, usually from halfbacks - sometimes penalised sometimes not. Yellow Card material? absolutely not.

    Wallabies v All Blacks Melbourne

That of course is obvious, but your post was written with the inference that McCaw was the one infringing.

    Wallabies v All Blacks Melbourne

Take your gold coloured glasses off. McCaw didn't get warned because he didnt get penalised. He took a different role this test. Plenty of tackling but attempted very few turnovers. I noticed McCaw on the bottom of several breakdowns, but in every case his arms were free and / or he was...

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

Richie will be remembered for being a 100% committed player, great captain who inspired and lead his team mates. All the stuff about being a cheat etc is just opinion, it doesnt get recorded in the record books. Richie McCaw - 85 tests - won 75. As captain 48 tests won 42. Vs Aus as captain...

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

And in answering the thread question: McCaw is a genius. Last night after Rocky was pinged & marched 10 McCaw approaches Joubert who tells him "Not now, I dont want to hear anything" McCaw's reply: "Ok I just wondered if you had anything you needed to talk to me about" Future Diplomat in the...

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

"scarfman: I think games like last week tarnish his image and legacy in the game." I think you may be making too much of that point - As with others, McCaws legacy will be based on his results. Most critically sucess or not at RWC2011.

    The ABs Mental Skills Coaching

Gilbert Enoka was the BlackCaps mental skills coach from mid 90's on - but having him on board didn't help them much. I think he has had a couple of stints with the ABs - initially when Smithy was Head coach on his own and then again in recent years. He seems to be more of a facilitator than...

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

Here's an article about McCaw written by someone who knows what they are talking about http://www.nzherald.co.nz/best-of-sport-analysis/news/article.cfm?c_id=1502180&objectid=10661084

Frankly Biggsy if that is your opinion it is not one shared by the majority. Judging by your 2 comments here your knowledge of the laws of the game, particularly the breakdown must be lacking.

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

TBH - McCaw played club & provincial rugby in Otago & Christchurch long before rucking was "outlawed" - he was well used to getting a good tagging and it didn't stop him being streets ahead of his counterparts then.
