    Wallabies 2024

For argument's sake, let's say the 15 you listed above is our best possible - there are 7 players there who were not in the 23 on Saturday.

You are significantly underestimating the impact of such an injury. Excerpt from a study of pro basketballers below as an example: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2214687320300054

I didn't say they could - but your comment that McReight was the only player injured/unavailable is just flat out wrong. You've even included two others in your best XV...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

I personally think some of the criticism is a bit overblown, but he only had an average game - was a bit ineffectual and made a couple of errors (as a result of playing his natural game pushing passes, etc. - might've been a different story if McReight was alongside him). Also probably...

There was a couple of seconds there where I thought we were oracles.

If it’s the same lineout I’m thinking of, it was more of a timing issue than an overthrow - equally the fault of the jumper/lifters. A lot of movement in that lineout iirc. Definitely over complicated things.

Forwards got pantsed but there were several instances of absolutely atrocious decision making on attack. Too many instances of players looking to solo it instead of going through the hands.

You should tell your kids to drink more - that generally makes a loss more palatable

I will not stand for any anti-South African rhetoric - but I will sit down for it and join in.

All I could find was Stephen 'Generational Hater' Hoiles on a similarly titled episode Mark Bouris' podcast. Dire.

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

Apologies, I probably wasn't clear - by building confidence in the role I wasn't referring to learning how to be a 10, but the ability to play their game with the confidence that they aren't going to be immediately dropped should they make an error or two. Autonomy, confidence, and...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

The counterargument to this being that if they're all there or thereabouts, would it not make the most sense to persist with the most experienced 10 and blood the next one coming through (which is what Schmidt appears to be doing)? As I said, I have no particular allegiance to any of the 10...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

In theory yes, but the numbers suggest otherwise with steady year on year declines. It does seem to be plateauing a bit, but I suspect this is related to existing customers as opposed to returning.

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

My point is about consistency and building confidence in the role - the below list of starting 10s over the past 4 seasons demonstrates how this has been sorely missing of late. The last time we had some consistency ('21) we had a pretty strong season - other factors at play of course. Over the...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

It's been said before, but this line of thinking is genuinely problematic. We shouldn't be dropping a 10 (or most positions, for that matter) off the back of one bad game. We've consistently seen that feeling a lack of security inspires absolutely no confidence within a player. I'm by no means...

I imagine the bulk of the value would be seen to be the existing content agreements - the NRL and AFL are signed until '27 and '31 respectively, and there would be a plethora of other redistribution deals with HBO, SkySports, etc. Be interesting to see if anyone's willing to fork out the...
