I believe an undisclosed pre-existing leg injury was also (partly) the reason for JOC (James O'Connor)'s early exit from his 2015 stint with the Reds

I recall the goal was to have him fit by around November - as you say, it will likely take longer to return to pre-injury conditions. He ruptured it reasonably early in the season though (mid-March), so I'd expect him to be available for most of next season.

Having lost so much depth in the centres with O’Connor, Creighton, Annan, and Petaia seemingly going, resigning Henry should be a priority imo. Obviously his run of injuries is a concern, but last season felt like a breakout year for him regardless.

Even Fiji provides challenges given the lighting in Suva - 6 of their 7 home games this season were 1 or 2pm kickoff local time, so 11am or 12pm AEST which isn't exactly prime time on a Saturday. Obviously still preferable to 12-6am, of course.

    Refereeing decisions

Understand that, but would be keen to hear the law and interpretation that would stop them advancing. Re: a quick throw being a restart: Law 18: The field of play has side boundaries known as touchlines. When play reaches a touchline, the ball is in touch and becomes dead. Quick-throws and...

I'd assume yes as it isn't a continued passage of play (technically a stoppage and restart)?

I don't think anyone's suggesting Tupou's fitness is of an acceptable standard - including the man himself. It is, however, somewhat understandable that a bloke of his size, position, and frequent use as an impact player is taking a while to get his match fitness back after a significant leg injury.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Possibly I'm misunderstanding your inference, but it'd be a pretty big call from Stan to pull out of sport imo. Obviously I'm not sure of the numbers, but I can't imagine they're losing money on it - particularly after the Olympics. Given what's going on with Foxtel at the moment, you'd think...

Reds seemingly trying to make it clear in the messaging that it was O’Connor who didn’t want to hang around, as opposed to them not offering anything. Probably the right call from him at this stage of his career, but a shame nonetheless. Despite a few ups and downs of form, I still have him...

Not new, but only recently resurrected (2022 I think). Looks like the teams have had a bit of a reshuffle though (no Vic, WA).

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Recognising that we played ~30min of our most cohesive attacking rugby in some time followed by ~50min of an absolutely unmitigated disaster don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Would makes sense if so - he's always struck me as someone (and a body) suited to the dark side.

You reckon he'd be trying to pressure his mates into paying overs? On the contrary, I'm very glad he's not negotiating the next deal. Considering the NewsCorp reporting (and lack thereof) surrounding rugby during McLennan's tenure, I'm not too sure he would've had much sway anyway...
