    Sydney Colts 2012

Word is that Eastwood took approx 60 Colts up to Nelson Bay last weekend to play against the Newcastle Rep teams who have their country championships in three weeks, and were extremely well drilled. Eastwood mixed all players in all grades and went quite well - didn't have any major problems.

My information is that certain players have been beneficiaries of some very good deals with sponsors and the like for playing for Colleagues.

Nah, Blake is 20 this year and has been doing alot of work in the offseason. John Manenti was keen to see how he would go, considering he has been one of the better players in Colts I for the past two seasons.

Blake Sutton has been training with grade - should be close to selection in 1s with Sione Piukala being given a contract in France.

Harry Byrnes, 2011 Manly 1st Grade Lock & Backrower, has moved to Eastwood for 2012. A very good pick-up. A big kid with the hands of a fly half

At this point in time, it will be a four week finals series, with 5 teams. My assumption (unconfirmed): Week 1 Game 1: 4 vs 5 - elimination game Game 2: 2 vs 3 Team 1 with week off Week 2 Game 3: Winner Game 1 vs Loser Game 2 Game 4: Team 1 vs Winner Game 2 (winner progresses to Grand Final)...

    Shute Shield 2012

Don't know if it has been mentioned on here already, but it looks as though Dave Harvey has signed with Norths for 2012.

Confirmed today that Division 3 will be a 12 team competition. Play every team once, then split into two pool and play those in your pool again. Pool 1: Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury Valley, Hills, Merrylands, UWS Hawkesbury Pool 2: Brothers, Epping, Hornsby, Macquarie Uni, Waverley...

Are they offering up any incentives to potential players? I know that they lost a few guys to Blue Mountains Subbies, as was mentioned here.

    NSW Suburban Rugby 2012

Rumour doing the rounds at the Hawkesbury Valley 10's tournament on Saturday is that Subbies are looking to make Division 3 a 12 team competition for 2012. Clubs include will probably be: Blacktown, Hornsby (both down from Div 2), Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury Valley, UWS Hawkesbury, Hills, Epping...

Unfortunately not, Balmain got up 19-5, according to the Subbies twitter. I'm sure Camo or Jnor will be on later today, any chance we can get a team list for Balmain and Petersham

Don't think so, Bob. Last year, we had a large group at that 21 age, and alot of younger guys.

Not mandatory, more like it is suggested. At Epping, we really pushed for the competition with Subbies after we dropped down from Division 2, having made Semis, GF and then running 2 teams in the comp last year.

Balmain Colts went alright in the Div 3 Colts competition last year. Having coached Colts in both Div 2 and Div 3, the standard isnt too different.

Alright then, Camo, not sure I'm 100% convinced, who is this mate of Ryan Cross' that you speak of.... how much did Wazza shell out for Chabal? Is this a trip to help him find a Super Rugby club to play for, or is he purely here to play one exhibition game for you guys?

Who are the Brothers players? I can think of Vinny Byrne & Greg Wade (from Gordon), Francis Cullimore (leaguey)

    NSW Suburban Rugby 2012

What a bunch of shit this is becoming..... the signing of Chabal for one game... ok, I can live with that. Even Mitchell & Giteau last year, but Ryan Cross for the season, come on! Subbies Rugby is supposed to be the AMATEUR competition, implying non-payment of players. This is going beyond a...

We got a message from Subbies, saying that they were still trying to wokr out the format of the lower divisions, thus the Div 3 draw has not been sorted out yet. I know that they definitely want to have a Division 4 competition, but whether or not they can sort it out with the clubs, might be...

Starting a new rugby club an insane idea? Gippsland, Vic.

Definitely get in contact with Bree Hill - she does an amazing job at Vic Rugby. She brought a team up to Sydney for the National Exchange in the Under 12's last year, and they did well. She is very knowledgeable and definitely wants to build the game down south.

And let's be perfectly honest - this isn't a problem of that team being too strong fro the rest of the competition. Norths, I'm sure, would much rather have a strong 4th Grade team, then win a Meldrum Cup (Division 6 Subbies) title. Not to disrespect any of our Div 6 friends.
