I'm still in favour of full home-and-away for the Shute Shield even if that means starting the season earlier and / or moving the start of the NRC back. The NRC could possibly be played as double headers at night or even if it can't I don't see any problems with it starting later.

This year the NRC is going to overlap with the Rugby World Cup so I wonder how much playtime the NRC will get on Fox.

Just noticed that teams don't seem to be getting competition points for byes this year. How is that fair given that 7 teams only play 16 games whereas the other 4 play 17 games? Seems like an unfair advantage to Rats, Uni, Rebels and Woods. Or am I missing something?

I notice in the SMH today that Terrigal 1sts 36 beat Kariong 10. They also had wins in 2nds, Presidents Cup, Colts and womens. Well done Terrigal. No mention anywhere of the Shute Shield.
