RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

Man you guys are making me a little sick! Do you really think he needed to give away a winners medal to show compassion for this poor downtrodden baby boy? Or maybe it was enough to escort him back to his seat and take a few pics with him? I don't question SBW motives - I just think he is a...

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

Maybe to the masses but he doesn't fool me. To me he just comes across as a bit dumb: 1. Giving away a medal that he worked hard and sacrificed for 2. Giving it to some kid who thought he was above the rules

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

He just rewarded a kid who broke the law. Bet he wouldn't have done it if an adult ran on the field. Not to mention this kid was very likely old enough to know better. Would have much prefer him donate his medal to charity for an auction so they could raise money for people more deserving...

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

Just saw the video of the kid running into the pitch. SBW really stuffed up by giving him the medal. It was enough to take him back to his parents and give him a hug. And the little turd shouldn't have accepted it. How does he think he has any rights to it? Not to mention his parents doing...

    World Rugby Awards 2015

The selection panel for the referee of the year is a bit silly. There is no way they aren't going to back up their own choice for the bloke they picked to have the final. No matter how fat behind play he seems to be in the faster games. Not an independent choice at all.

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

Having been there I agree with this. The English did a great job of organising the games and the multitude of events around the games. In this respect (and others) this World Cup was about 100 times better than the last, and certainly edged the 2003 version as well. We should applaud them for...

    World Rugby Awards 2015

Surely they have to think about who would be in their top world side if picked today based on the years performance. There is no fucking way any sane person would pick Giteau over Nonu or Moore over Coles or the Battleship (plus a few others). Clearly these awards are very political in nature...

    World Rugby Awards 2015

If it is more based on RWC and particularly RWC finals it is hard to see why Nigel Owens got the ref award!

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

I agree that Beale played well, but defense was always going to win that final, and ultimately our midfield defense is where we fell down and where NZ made the inroads and scored their tries.

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

The call that didn't go Fardy and Pocock's way in the lead up to the first NZ try was certainly at Owens feet. Not only does Fardy get on the ball, he is then held by Carter who has gone off his feet, then Franks comes in to clean out Pocock from almost perpendicular to the sideline. Pretty...

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

Also just re-watched the no knock on call near the end of the first half. There were two prett clear knock ons by NZ in a row and perhaps one by Aus. However Owens was so far away from the play he wasn't in a position to make the call. He actually asked the touch judge 'knock on or play on'...

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

Just rewatching and he says 'there was a split second where you could have pulled back a little bit'

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

Normally if agree, but is suspect Owens knew the first penalty was very marginal so didn't really take it into account in his thinking. Even the high tackle, while a definite penalty was only an inch misplaced and at the very low end of a foul.

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

He said something like that. I think he knew Kepu wouldn't have been able to fully pull out but because Carter decided to fake injury for a while he thought he had to do something about it. I'm not against the penalty - but it was certainly a 50/50 call.

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

I think it is a bit rough to say Kepu was lucky not to be carded. The first penalty was line ball - even Owens himself said so 'you had a split second to put less into the tackle'. It was clear he wasn't completely convinced himself that it was a foul - a 50/50 call that went against us.

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

It didn't cost Australia the game but it did have a big effect on the margin. Losing by 17 looks bad on the record books when that could easily have been under 7. Questions still need to be asked on Owens performance. He was deemed the best in the world and therefore was awarded the final -...

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

They didn't get called for one offside all night IIRC. There appeared to be some blatant ones.

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

I don't know how you come to that ridiculous conclusion. The wallabies were certainly outplayed in the first half but their scrambling defense stopped all legitimate tries. Owens was a complete joke. You have 3 points after an obvious forward pass and a try after two obvious missed calls. The...

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

We can't win unless Owens goes off injured. ABs deserve to be in front but Owens decisions have favoured them time after time. What a joke.

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

We were being dominated at the breakdown and tackle contest. I felt we had been smashed in that first half.
