    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

Well said . It is all about having the strongest 46-50 boys (assuming some shadows due to injuries) across two teams. There would only be a handful of boys in this group that have only one pathway; I know three but I am sure there are more. People get a bit funny about the silverware. It...

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

D Don't forget the GPS kicker, Storey also missed a relatively easy goal conversion in front that hit the uprights. I do agree though that the top 4 teams are Pres A, Pres B, ISA and CHS. It would be good to have a real round robin over two weekends as you don't gain much information when...

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

It was a tongue in cheek response. The boy in question is listed as coming from St Doms, not known as a AAGPS school. Perhaps it's a feeder school from Tonga. There is no doubting he is a very good player but really can the Newington selectors get it together and finalise the transfer papers so...

That means, the paperwork hasn't been finalised yet.

Re 12, I would put money on him being a transitional scholarship holder at either Newington or Kings! If it is the same boy, he was very strong. Cameron King unlucky to not be No. 8 in 1st Xv. Some surprising decisions.

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2013

Gordon has developed a successful model that makes people want to join the club/programs. A more disciplined and pseudo professional approach is what attracted us to the club rather than a couple of random training runs. Maybe other rep sides should do the same? I have only ever seen great...

See the NSW State Cup Thread for all state championships results. Gordon beat Eastwood; Warringah beat Parramatta.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

I might have missed this but how is the competition winner decided at the end of 10 rounds if there isn't an outright winner? Points for and against? Or is there a possibility of joint premiers? And does this apply for all age groups.

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

I agree with the above. The end game is to have the biggest possible pool of 16s being considered in at least 1 or two forums. Stamp Champs are great as it brings in ACT plus country teams. NSW Schools brings in the rest (with duplication). Does Country actually have three chances to be viewed...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

You must be Dylan's mother! But just for the record, the current Gordon Rep side (note not club side) has 6 Joeys 16as players presently playing in it. They are no longer required to play club unless they need to qualify. The Rep sides are the best cross section of all NSW Schools players...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

This is correct - undefeated in the comp rounds in 13s, 14s and 15s. And yes a loss to Scots in trials in 13s and to Kings last year in trials (21-22). I think it is a great decision to keep the Joeys 16As together with some new faces. Only a couple would threaten the seniors. It also works...

    ISA Rugby 2013

The ISA Under 16 list has been posted under the scholarship thread if interested. 6 from St Augustines (dalton, Nettleton, Elia, Lough (the younger), McRae, Hopoate) and 8 from Oakhill. 2 to be dropped. Big forwards; should be a great contest up front.

Upskilling? Is that a PC term for blatantly recruiting talented players and offering heavily discounted fees (aka a scholarship)?

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

Wrong thread but for what its worth. At least 6 key boys out doing Athletics in 16s. Reassess on 18 May! DG needs to reboot his attitude from what I have heard and do it for the team not himself. Hard lesson when you are 15/16 and have some talent. There are plenty of boys who will take your...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby U/16 2012

Note that I said Competition games. They beat Kings last week in the Comp round hence that is why they are undefeated.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby U/16 2012

The Joeys 15As beat Shore 45-0 remaining undefeated in Comp footy for 3 years. Looking forward to season 2013 when the Scots and Newington scholarship feeding frenzy will at least make it more competitive in the 16As.
