Will the Reds make the Final?

Reds with just 5 bonus points this season. Unless you win almost every game, that's probably not enough to score a wildcard. That's just how the competition works.

Reds not quite out of it yet...

If reds win next week with a bonus point, then they just need one of the bulls or the sharks to not get a 5point win (possibly brumbies as well if they don't get any competition points against the tahs tonight), or the crusaders to lose.

If reds win next week without a bonus point, they just need one of the bulls or sharks to lose (or brumbies if they don't beat the tahs), or the crusaders to lose and not get two losing bonus points, and the hurricanes to not get a 5 point win.

Lot of ifs in there, and looking at the draw all the other contenders have low ranked opponents. But there have been a lot of upsets this year. Best hope might be the cheetahs knocking over the sharks.

It is unlikely

Bulls play lions
Sharks play cheetahs
Crusaders play force
Brumbies play blues

The reds have the hardest game.

I think the only semi realistic chance of the Reds making it now is for the Brumbies to falter over the next two weeks. Unfortunately the bonus point system has cost us dearly this year. In the end we have injuries and disastrous early season form to blame.

Fingers crossed for the unlikely to happen.

We were in position to win two games this year that we didn't put away - crusaders and sharks. It looks like those are they teams that will now beat us into the 6.

If I recall rightly, Cheetahs are at home next week, Sharks may well hit the banana skin there.

Edit: being played at the shark tank. Not good.

Both the bulls and sharks play after the reds game though. They will know exactly what they have to do.

Force normally play well vs the saders, maybe they can pull a good one out for the reds?

We have to hope that the Brumbies lose their next two games. Who knows, the Blues (34) lost to the Chiefs (41) in the last game before the break, and the game was a cracker until right at the end. I felt to some degree they had refound their Mojo. So we'll see how the Brumbies fare against the Waratahs tonight.
Probably the first time I'll have ever cheered for the 'Tah'
Come on the Tahs:D

And why would we do that after all that has happened this year?

The Blues are destroying the Force in the 2nd half atm despite the Force dominating them in the scrum. 1st half was very scrappy with a lot of handling errors from the Blues. But only one team has stepped it up in the 2nd 40.

Nonu has been particularly impressive and looks a lot fitter than he did before the June test window. Blue could cause an upset against the Brumbies next week but they'll have to improve in the scrum and the lineout.

Reds will make it for sure.
Tahs to beat Brumbies tonight, then Blues to do same next week.
Then the Reds will easily dispose of the Tahs next week to top the conference.

If I was betting on it, at this stage I would say that the Reds are toast.

Not likely now, tahs to come out firing and turn out an inspiring win against the reds next week. There is no way the tahs could tolerate this losing streak, surely!!!!

It's not urgent for the Tahs.

They're into the 17th year of their 3 year plan.
