Schadenfreude

Fair enough point, their form has not been the best in the last 3 or 4 rounds. But to say that they don't deserve it would be a bit of a stretch. The position on the table at the end of the season is a more accurate judgement of whether a team "deserves" to be in the finals than their form over the last 5 or 6 rounds of the competition. The more consistent teams over the entire length of the season are rewarded with a place in the finals rather than teams who have been excellent in patches and really poor in others.I have my reservations about the Bulls this year, they have looked brittle and I would rate Sharks, Canes and Reds ahead of them for current form. Not sure the Lions have enough in the tank to beat them though.
Oh I agree they deserve it BB, just an observation on their form of recent games.
The Queensland Reds are seventh going into the final round of Super Rugby - one spot outside of the finals. Here’s what needs to unfold over the weekend for them to progress.Ladder with one game to play
- Chiefs (New Zealand conference leader) 63
- Stormers (South African conference leader) 62
- Brumbies (Australian conference leader) 58
- Crusaders (Wildcard) 56
- Bulls (Wildcard) 54
- Sharks (Wildcard) 54
- Reds 53
- Hurricanes 53
Reds playoff scenario number oneVictory over the Waratahs would put the Reds on 57 competition points and they would qualify for the finals if any of these results fall Queensland’s way:
- Sharks (54) lose to Cheetahs by any amount
- Bulls (54) lose to Lions by any amount
- Crusaders (56) lose to Force by any amount If the Hurricanes (53) record a bonus-point victory over the Chiefs, the Reds would require two of the above scenarios to occur in order to qualify for the finals.
Reds playoff scenario number twoVictory over the Waratahs with a bonus-point would put the Reds on 58 competition points and they would qualify for the finals if any of these results fall Queensland’s way:
- Sharks (54) fail to record a maximum point haul (victory + four-try bonus point) over Cheetahs
- Bulls (54) fail to record a maximum point haul (victory + four-try bonus point) over Lions
- Crusaders (56) lose to Force by any amount or draw
- Brumbies (58) lose to Blues without a bonus-point (Reds, with one extra win, would take out the Australian Conference and host a qualifying final)

Chiefs don't wanna risk being overtaken by the Stormers (unlikely though it may be).Chiefs continue to shit on the Reds finals aspirations. Canes looking like they might pick up a bonus point win against them.
Chiefs don't wanna risk being overtaken by the Stormers (unlikely though it may be).
If the Canes win it wll be from their own game.

Fair play to both teams playing such quality rugby with so much riding on the game. Top notch.
Unlikely? The Chiefs still need 2 more tries, Stormers should get the bp.
Make that 1 as they score an intercept try.
