The ARU appear not to have learnt anything since the Tuqiri signing debacle. Combine this with the article about SBW and who puts words into his mouth and by now someone will be shaking their head is disgust about the decision not to to lock Cooper up on a long term deal when he was facing those charges last year.

The constant media coverage of the managers pimping out their players to the highest bidder does not help the situation. The low rent journalism coverage of the "he said, they stated" unsubstantiated crap over contracts is the main reason I never believe an ounce of dribble by some hacks. So in 3 months the next round of tripe will be served up by individuals pushing their own wheelbarrow and the appearance of failure once again of the ARU to deal with the sort of crap early will create another round of e-waste.

:nta: So what are the ARU supposed to do? to "lock Cooper up?" - throw any amount of money to him? - did Cooper actually want a longer contract?

If he doesn't want to play or thinks he can do better elsewhere - see ya later.

No the comment was that ARU missed the opportunity to give him a contract when he was waiting to hear about the trial. They could have inserted a get out of jail card if he was found guilty that terminated the contract.

He was "insulted" by the offer, there was a valid disagreement about the value of the guy, a guy with nothing but great potential with a court case hanging over him

The rumours about Burgess seem to make sense, he can either be the bench guy for Aus [Whittaker mode] or go play for one of the best teams in the world and make some good money.

he can either back himself to become the best scrumhalf in the country and represent Australia, or he can take the easy option and chase the bucks overseas.

Representing wouldn't be the issue, game time would be. Realistically Genia is a special player, extremely talented and grounded.

I don't think playing at Toulouse would be an easy option, that would be the Japan option

Moore can not be behind TPN. Moore is a vital component to the Wallabies. TPN can be brilliant off the bench and giving squeaky a break every now and again.

I went to Waratahs training this morning and held up a banner that said "Keep Aussie rugby players in Oz!" Unfortunately it was forwards training only and TPN told me and I quote:

"Don't read the papers mate"

Sage advice from TPN and good to hear. Is there nothing this guy can't do?

An offer to play for Toulouse would be very hard to turn down. Probably a 50% chance of winning the HCup with them and the T14 as well
